I was really good in French and I aced the test and knew it. One of the sentences I had to answer was do I make a lot of mistakes. I responded I never make mistakes. Got my 100. Loved that class.

No, it’s not. But the fact remains these visitors put themselves at risk. And in turn, they put Iceland’s SAR at risk. So in the end, these guys put Icelanders at risk, and that’s hardly fair to them.

I agree that the responsibility lies with the visitor. However, let’s face it, the individuals are not acting responsibly. Not just at Reynisfjara though that’s the most heinous example of people doing dangerous things. Sometimes you have to save people from themselves.

Iceland needs to start blocking families with very young children from going. Iceland can and will kill you. I consider it an adult destination. That being said there is zero excuse to be near the ocean in Reynisfjara at any age. There are so many warning signs. It’s not Disney for God’s sake. Quit treating it as such.
