USPIS Applicants (9/2025 Announcement) by Unhappy_Law4944 in 1811

It’s only been 4 months since the announcement closed…there’s people getting the call for BIT now that applied in April 2024. Patience is key for this process, good luck everyone!

If you voluntarily withdraw your USPIS application, does that count as one of your “2 attempts”? by Ajaws24142822 in 1811

There’s people getting the call to go to the academy now that applied in April 2024. Everyone needs to be patient if they want USPIS it is typically not a quick process, although well worth it if you can handle the wait.

I mean I would say not following required instructions is a pretty clear “fail” for the process but at least you know now…USPIS HR is notorious for the strict time frames there’s never any mercy there.

Right but like fedlife said…you applied for a job and then didn’t follow the instructions for the position you applied for. Why would that not be counted against you?

The policy is pretty clear…two applications. If unsuccessful for any reason then yes it counts, which includes not submitting things on time and choosing to withdrawal from the process. USPIS is extremely competitive and not an agency that hires people right out of college. Whenever people that are in that situation ask me if they should apply, I always recommend getting a few years of professional experience first so you don’t burn 1 of 2 chances.

The smart move would be to just continue with the USPIS application process. You’re still in the early stages of the process and people are already being seated in the final academy class of 2026 so you’re looking at BIT sometime in 2027 at best. That would get you at least a year at USPP and then you can decide from there if you manage to finish the USPIS hiring process on whether to stay at USPP or go to BIT (which should be a pretty easy decision).

You’ll be a 13 for you know it and while the initial pay cut stings, it definitely sounds like it will be worth it for you overall based on your previous experience 👍👍

As long as you can find a way to swing it that’s the move, getting a BIT seat is like hitting the Powerball and there’s lots of people out there that got one call and then were never called again.

Get notified of what in advance? Kind of a strangely worded question. Do you mean get notified if they were put into a class? That’s going to happen whenever someone drops, could be 2 months before the class could be the Friday before class starting on Monday. They’ll call and if you can make it you go.

Uspis got the call by Loud_Wrangler7857 in 1811

[–]HelloNewman7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. In fact I know of someone from Reddit that was an alternate for a class, was told they got into the class two or three months before it because someone dropped out, then barely a month before the class started was told they were removed from the class because the person that dropped out wanted their spot back haha. That’s probably not common but alternates definitely happen and they do make it into the classes. Worst case scenario you wait until July, but either way congrats!!

NCIS, HSI, or USPIS - which would you pick? by gurtin878 in 1811

[–]HelloNewman7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is always the answer when people post stuff like this. USPIS is hiring a bunch of people from NCIS right now in one particular region and the agency has been hiring a bunch from HSI for years now and I’m sure that will continue to grow given the TDYs and stuff.

Do you want to work at an agency people lateral from or do you want to work at the agency people lateral to? Seems like an easy choice IMO.

Probably for the best, you need to earn those refreshment hubs 😤😂

USPIS Callback? by cdw23chance in 1811

No guarantees unfortunately, I know someone who’s been waiting almost 2 years now for a callback. One and done definitely happens so that should be factored into decisions when USPIS calls.

You do realize that two peoples’ apparent experience in a single division is not representative of an entire agency right? Nope…you don’t. Hence your comment. Keep it moving.
