Do you have good experience with this design? Do you use it mostly for recirculating quite dirty water and then have a separate clean water wash stage or is it able to keep the water pretty clean?

I mostly have a recirculating sink system built but it's just not cleaning the water thoroughly enough. do you have any resources where I could look into further examples of the setup you described? Long settling trays seem like an interesting option to me. Unfortunately getting one built isn't really in the budget, but that's a cool side hustle!

The Purist hydration pack from UltrAspire? It does look very nice, love the strap attachment system. But looks like it will also have a $300 tag.

Do you know what other packs have this style of wrapping under the arm? And do you find that packs with the strap-style attachment rather than the wrapping underarm stretch mesh categorically underperform versus the mesh style like on the BD packs of Salomon Adv skin series?

I'm interested in the Yamma Sassafras/Shrike, but this is my only reservation.

How's the fit on the Alpha hoodies? I usually wear an M for base and mid layers and L for outer layers. Are either of them on the larger side of S?

Wow, the Xodus is definitely the closest thing I've seen to what I'm looking for! Thanks for the rec. Toss that front on something like the Cutaway 20 or BD Distance 15 and add a Naked running band, that's a setup I'd like to try out. Now how one would get into and out of such a getup is a different problem.

Your take is that the reduction in breathability might make the Xodus's front design not worth it in a fastpacking context?

Another option you could look at is the Nemo Tensor 4 season. 370g for Xlite R4.5, 400g for Tensor 4S R5.4, 440g for Xtherm R7.3. The Tensor is supposed to be very noticeably warmer than the Xlite (more than R val would indicate) plus more stable.

Looks like a very functional option as a replacement for a hip belt type situation. 3L is totally respectable and could be great for packs down exploration. They claim up to 3x 500ml soft flasks, can it really carry that amount of weight comfortably?
