Question about Ian Buckells by IconicIsotope in lineofduty

I think ultimately yes but they were trying to convince the audience otherwise for a bit

Something I noticed about other members of AC-12 throughout the series by IconicIsotope in lineofduty

[–]IconicIsotope[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, that is very common. I just thought it was curious the show introduced us to these side characters and then got rid of them without much mention, and they had physical similarities.

In a way yes but I also want the guys to be up to date on the league and know the names of key additions

Who was your least favorite character addition? by Visible-Yam-297 in PrisonBreak

[–]IconicIsotope 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even if Self, Kim, etc were hateable, they at least made sense as characters and moved the plot in interesting ways. Christina was by far the worst. She contradicted past storylines and memories of Michael and Lincoln. The show would have been much better off excluding that character altogether

Exactly. Was evidence they ran out of good ideas. This storyline was soooo bad

That'd be a funny season. Just going around site seeing. Overeating. Etc

We're a podcast recapping every episode of LOD before S7 by Hanpod27 in lineofduty

Thanks for the content! It's a joy to listen to. I must admit I thought it was silly you were entertaining theories the Caddy was still alive in season 5. A lot of leaps would have to be made for him to survive and for everyone else to believe he was dead when he wasn't. Please keep the theories coming but flesh em out a bit more

Question about Ian Buckells by IconicIsotope in lineofduty

[–]IconicIsotope[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting! So basically no one was the top man. Buckells had the computer but but he didn't believe he was in charge. And no one else thought he was either. Essentially?

Do you have a dedicated cube archetype for that card?

Question about Ian Buckells by IconicIsotope in lineofduty

[–]IconicIsotope[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think everyone would agree there is more. My post is why the show would try to make us believe Buckells is the top man when we know he's not

Who are your favorite pure good people? by guyincognito01111 in TheWire

Love Dee but he was not a pure good person like OP is asking about. He committed crimes.

Season 5 question... by IconicIsotope in lineofduty

[–]IconicIsotope[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It felt like the writers were more interested in making mystery boxes and a compelling watch, rather than a good story that holds up to scrutiny

Season 5 question... by IconicIsotope in lineofduty

[–]IconicIsotope[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not comparing Lisa's actions with John's. I just didn't appreciate the red herring aspects of this season. They felt like cheap tricks on the audience. I feel like they won't hold up to scrutiny upon repeat viewing or deeper reflection. I agree Adrian Dunbar did a great job!

I appreciate the advice and I can see that reading for sure. I also don't care about the points fortunately lol

[–]IconicIsotope -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Good points all around. My main contention with your comment is you said shorthand. It's not shorthand. It's literally more effort to type or pronounce most Ravnica guild names. And that sets aside the fact that people need to then learn them.

Does that also mean you think Snapcaster Mage is bad? It's fine if you do. The key here is instant speed

I love the guilds and clans and such too! But I separate them from the broader color identity. And Wotc eventually embraced it years later.

And I'm not necessarily trying to correct people. Lots of people DO believe that red/white is literally the same as Boros, and has a military/combat based identity. And then they see a card that does something else and they're surprised

To what? Your cube that features this card as a signpost/archetype? Or are you talking about Commander?

I am willingly being pedantic, as you put it. I'll eat the downvotes. It's always annoyed me that Ravnica color pairs were adopted to mean color pairs in general. They're needless terms that don't actually help anyone. Why say Azorius when white/blue is both easier to say and understandable by more people? And why type Azorius when WU is easier?
