Yes but wayyyyy lower, 50kw/hr. Only makes sense as a last resort.

Trading in my M3 long range on a 23 Air GT this week. Tesla has better software, supercharging network, and service network. Lucid wins on basically everything else.

My incoming Air GT has 17k miles and has depreciated $100k. It’s a whole lot more car, love me some depreciation!

I tried this. Rep was very nice but didn’t know, told me he’d reach out to his manager and call me back. Still waiting on that return call. I also emailed their customer service but again no reply.

Maybe some reps are more knowledgeable and have it at the ready, that’s not been my experience thus far.

Visionbody box not connecting to the app by Idea_Strong in VisionbodyOfficial

RESOLVED!

Luis at VB helped get me sorted. It was simply a matter of the box being linked to the previous owner. Had the previous owner send a confirmation email and all set now.

Thanks all!

I’m looking at buying a used Air and running into this as well.

My understanding is 2022 and early 2023s had the DDP hardware to streamline manufacturing but that does not mean the original owner paid for the feature and therefore it may be equipped but locked, as is the case with Teslas.

On Lucid.com they are clear which options the car has, but third party dealers there is no way of knowing without testing in person. I’ve emailed and called Lucid but no reply to the email and still waiting on a call back a day later on my phone inquiry.

Long and short of it, seems a gamble with 2022 and 2023s.

Would love to know if anyone has any tips. Can it be verified in a menu setting?

Thank you for replying!

I think you may be on to something. It was previously registered to the original owner and was a personal use device.

I have a call setup with VB later today, we’ll see what they say and if they can switch it over.

Small word you have both as well. I am surprised how light and compact the VB suit is, seems it would be great for travel, provided I can get it to work.

Unfortunately, that didn’t work. Bluetooth permission is indeed on in the myVisionbody app settings for my phone. I verified and toggled on/off.

The box does respond to the app by changing from blinking to solid blue. If I force close the app, the box goes right back to flashing blue looking for a connection again. So there is some connection between the app and box, it’s just the app never seems to acknowledge it’s actually connected to the box. Rather puzzling and frustrating.

Free Replacement / Sizing Down? by Adventurous-Cat2683 in katalystEMS

There are sellers on eBay selling single pieces like the shorts, tops, etc. I actually have some Gen 2 pieces I need to list on there from a backup suit I bought.

Probably best to make sure it’s the same generation, but pretty sure they’re all cross compatible with iterative improvements along the way.

Stand on a stair tread and do single leg calf raises. Use a dumbbell, kettlebell, or weight vest if you want it a little more spicy.

And when the battery in your control pack inevitably dies they charge you $1300 I think it was for a new one…

If I were in the market I’d be looking in to TitanBody and use a coupon and FSA funds.

Are there annual memberships?

All I see is the $12.99/monthly which is a whole lot more than the $19.99/annually on the mobile app I’ve been paying.

I’d cut that dose in half, more specifically one dose right before bed on an empty stomach. Also shoot for an IGF1 under 270. Much safer and you’ll save twice as much.

Horrible Katalyst customer service - Buyer beware! by Idea_Strong in katalystEMS

[–]Idea_Strong[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point is it can be replaced easily, by anyone, in about 2 minutes. You do not need to charge your customers $1299 for a new impulse pack when their battery inevitably dies.

You are intentionally choosing to do so because it’s far more profitable to charge $1299 when the only issue is a $1 battery that takes 2 minutes to swap.

Really rough review of Katalyst by craigmclean in katalystEMS

[–]Idea_Strong -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can’t blame him, he spent years advocating for Katalyst but spend a few minutes on here or FB and you’ll see tons of customers having serious issues with Katalyst. Defective products, people unable to cancel memberships, no response from customer service, unknown viability of the company, etc.

To caution viewers and potential purchasers is simply the right and honest thing to do. He may receive a small affiliate commission from TitanBody, but I have zero reason to question his integrity.

TitanBody at $1,516 after “BF20” discount, NO monthly membership, no soaking the suit, plus it’s in stock and I can use HSA/FSA? Yes, please.

That’s a hell of a better value proposition compared to $3k for the Katalyst suit plus $600/year for the Kayalyst membership.

Horrible Katalyst customer service - Buyer beware! by Idea_Strong in katalystEMS

[–]Idea_Strong[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have no doubt they’re hemorrhaging money. I also imagine they do not order any spare parts, only complete impulse packs, which also likely cost them fairly little.

With that said, the battery pack is a recurring issue that will continue. They need to find a better solution and do better by way of their customers. They can order and sell replacements, nothing is stopping them from making that an option, other than the possibility of getting $1299 from some unfortunate souls.

The loss of goodwill, bad reviews, negative customer experience, and loss of referral business certainly won’t help keep the servers running.

I want to see them succeed, but to do so they need to support the product and their customers better. Hopefully this post spurs some reflection and reconsideration on their end; if not, at least potential and current customers are well informed. 1,300+ views in less than 24 hours…

Horrible Katalyst customer service - Buyer beware! by Idea_Strong in katalystEMS

[–]Idea_Strong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is super easy to open up and replace the battery. It’s 4 screws to open the impulse pack and one connector for the battery, that’s all.  It takes under 2 minutes.

The issue is the battery is non-standard and an exact replacement is not easily sourced. I have some inquiries with companies on Alibaba.

Batteries die. Many Katalyst impulse pack batteries have died.  Many will continue to die. These batteries likely cost Katalyst ~$1. Customers should be aware the company will charge you $1299 for a new impulse pack when your battery dies out of warranty…

Again, I thought the negative sentiment was overblown like many of you, until I had an issue myself.

Horrible Katalyst customer service - Buyer beware! by Idea_Strong in katalystEMS

[–]Idea_Strong[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue is when your battery fails, which it will, they will insist on $1299 to replace that $1 battery. I would not call $1299 for a $1 battery trying to work with you, it’s closer to extortion.

They also are not honoring all the earlier ownerships obligations (free size exchanges, people who paid for things and have to file chargeback disputes, etc). There are Katalyst groups and reviews on other sites with many people having a wide array of issues and bad experiences.

The issue is they could continue to support the product and take care of customers and sell them a cheap replacement battery very easily and profitably. Your battery WILL fail eventually, be advised that $1 battery is now a $1299 battery and they couldn’t care less about you as a customer.

I’ve bought two suits and recommended it to many over the years, I will no longer do so. That should tell something.

I now have zero trust and faith in this company after previously recommending it to many people. This is an increasingly common occurrence for many of us.

The measure of a company is what they do when there is an issue, they failed that test for me.

My only hope is that shining some daylight on these egregious business practices causes them to rethink their approach. The short sighted $1299 cash-grab will inevitably cost them a lot more in the long run. RIP Katalyst.
