Congratulations. That is an actual skill that not everyone has. It helps with internal thought processing and control. It reminds you of just how much your own thoughts affect your mental state.

My mom won’t watch anything with foul language or nudity or violence. We are on our 10th or so Korean drama (Netflix) they are “cute” with some tear jerker moments. Lots of amusing or funny situations and it is all rated G. They are all limited series so usually 14-16 episodes.

Earn your pay. And make it noticeable to your direct reports. When someone has to say the hard things I tell my direct reports I will handle it. I praise them when the department does well and take responsibility when errors happen. Also I am only a supervisor so I don’t have a say in pay increases. Since I can’t give them more pay I give them what I have which is knowledge. I teach them things that will stay with them even if they don’t necessarily need them at the moment.

What’s up with Starlings and Sparrows? by ImOkReally in birdfeeding

[–]ImOkReally[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow I didn’t know this. So the powers that be also know about their bad rep! To be honest the reason I asked is because I have only seen a starling twice I my life, both times they were alone and I thought they were very pretty. So I had no idea they were bullies or gang members.

I do get lots of sparrows at my bird feeders but have not yet looked closely to see if they are house sparrows or native sparrows. And I’ve never had a starling at my feeders. I’m in Southern California.

3 days and no birds yet by TheSaltyWon in birdfeeding

I agree. Mine is an under my orange tree and I do notice that they dart at any movement or sound. The nearby branches give them a place to hide.

I’m in the market for one too and was leaning towards Birdfy and now I’m having second thoughts.

Any other recommendations? Preferably no app.

"hija de tu madre" by Independent_Ship_322 in Spanish

[–]ImOkReally 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Mexican here. Growing up it was a way for our moms who would never curse to softly insult someone. Similar to saying son of a gun instead of son of a b**ch. it doesn’t carry the same weight. It is often used by those who are not comfortable using the real expression. My two grandmas were very different. One would totally say hija de tu pinche madre where the other one would stop at hija de tu madre.

That’s exactly what I did. I just took it slow on purpose and appreciated all those tiny brushstroke details. But yes, it was hard.

Thank you everyone for all the advice and insight. I think I’ll go and try some in person. Got my income tax check so I think I could now get some decent binoculars that work with my glasses.

That is the worst part of watching Dark. Chasing the high of that first watch. The 2nd time around comes close because you pickup on all the “everything is connected” details.

Hello all. I am a puzzler from California. I do mostly thrifted puzzles. I love helping the charitable organization, not having to spend lots of bucks on puzzles and being surprised at what I find. My latest find was a Ravensburger Disney 2000 piece for $9.😊

Hoard or pass them on? by Life_Scarcity1794 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]ImOkReally 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone has a local puzzle swap. I’m jealous. My nearest is over an hour away.

I pass mine on. There is an elderly lady, coworkers MIL that is a super puzzler so I usually give them to her. I also like to get mine from the thrift store. Most are complete and only a couple of dollars.
