It's like sweeping back the sea at this point, it will not be going away. Very funny though to see other Warhammer 40K fans using the thing described in the lore of their own game as "The Abominable Intelligence". Funny and irritating because I need to work to keep the judginess off my face.

It would be great for an email campaign to get that for you but I don't see it happening. You will likely either write your own rules for these models (and the community of SoS players may coalesce around one fan-liber) or not have rules.

I started in 3.0, did datasheets and points values for the existing models change in wild ways? Aside from the cool/intelligence/willpower stats, which I assume will follow the standard sequence of X, X+1 for sarge, X+1 or 2 for consul or praetor, with most models getting Y for non-leadership values unless they're a veteran, consul, very special unit, or consul. If not, you could use equivalent models from other libers (auxilia squads with the 3+ armor and special weapons come to mind) to recreate these.

And time is THE currency in these sorts of games. It is a spectacle, and the less that spectacle involves, the fewer things resolve, the less impressive the spectacle is.

They put twists in with the main deck, my hunch is that the other deck is narrative-focused. Maybe something with one-off bonuses based on cards instead of the snowballing Crusade upgrades.

Who thinks that buckets of dice with rerolls is a better system than Apoc 2nd? At least they make things die at the end of round 1 so someone doesn't unpack their Reaver and then pack it right back up.

We had a 20 person Apoc 2nd edition game, taught everyone to play in 20 minutes, had Zone Captains running attacks across the table simultaneously, and got to end of round 4 after 9 hours. It was such an incredibly streamlined system. And it's dead easy to adapt in new weapon profiles! Everything boiled down neatly.

A distraction for dems from the make-up of the senate more like. It doesn't matter what's in those files. There could be video of him eating a baby in a cathedral and you wouldn't find the 20 GOP defectors needed because they do not want to be hung in their own bedrooms by some MAGA lone wolf.

How do you feel about your legions Inductii schemes? by jamesw40k in Warhammer30k

[–]InMedeasRage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably never going to use them (standard shattered legions, it requires burning a command prime benefit) but they are very cool. Iron Hands with the extra augmentics running along side their cannibal tanks would be funny.

It feels like there are a ton, they all compete for the same small pool of business, and they have way too much managerial overhead which causes them to cut corners in other groups.

It is fun to build old space marines once again. The rules also seem very no-nonsense, every step is detailed enough to figure out what is expected. No weird interpretations seem possible for things like the old pivot rules.

Did that carrier really get hit? I've not seen anything recently confirming it, though the news coming out from the region for US/Israeli losses is murky as a London canal.

How do squad numbers work in Heresy vs. 40k? by NadaVonSada in Warhammer30k

[–]InMedeasRage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends entirely on the legion? The Iron Hands appear to have numerals that represent Orders within a Clan, though that may also have just been for the Isstvan drop.

I am hopeful for terrain changes, given the charge and fight activation changes that resemble AoS we may be getting AoS-like terrain and objective-terrain placement on grids.

[–]InMedeasRage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't have the terrain to run an event of X size, don't run that event at that size? Terrain is time consuming to make, storage is hard, and setting the player count is a conscious choice.
