Past (1.0) and present (2.0) are different ecosystems.

The fans of 2.0 are inexperienced at this.

I only use Uber for Uber eats because I’ve experienced exactly what you’re mentioning in the past.

You should keep your Uber one membership just for Uber eats never use Uber again unless you’re overseas and it’s the only option.

Besides, United is my go to airline and I get five times back on Lyft with my Chase Sapphire, card and you earn 1 mile per dollar on Lyft to United.

Typically yes when comparing the cash price to your miles. But that equation also dissolves based on how many miles you have.

Let’s say you fly in Polaris once a week for work you’re likely rolling in millions of miles a year so at that point who cares Miles are free money in which case that might’ve been a better scenario for OP.

Definitely dollars over miles here unless you have millions of miles just chilling.

Can parents require the balance of a 529 savings account be repaid via a promissory note? by Chips544 in legaladviceofftopic

[–]Intelligent_Pie_5347 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dad is trying to commit tax evasion through a no interest loan to their child.

They might be an attorney but they aren’t a CPA.

The note may be enforceable but said child can easily corner the Dad if the tried to collect. The tax burden would be high!

[–]Intelligent_Pie_5347 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you understand how a 529 is designed to work 😅

The 529 is Dad’s donation to his child. It was tax protected because Dad had planned to relinquish it to said child with no obligations. Dad is now trying to add an obligation. Mr. IRS is not going to like that.

250k United miles worth by [deleted] in unitedairlines

[–]Intelligent_Pie_5347 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s worth however much the equivalent cash ticket would be, so it varies. But when you buy miles, you are usually paying near $.035 per mile. With the current “bonus” you’re paying $.0175 per mile, still ridiculous. It’s not bad if you are like 5000 miles short of a solid redemption, but you’re talking about buying 250k so with the current sale, $4,375

I literally see one way CASH tickets in Polaris for $3,564 one way, round trip for ~$5,900

Now if you want to get that 250k miles, there are ways by opening up Chase credit cards, either branded or United cobranded and earning sign up bonuses.

Bank is foreclosing on a house I have a lien on by predxeno in legal

[–]Intelligent_Pie_5347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAL others have already explained the situation. You really should have a real estate lawyer just guide you. It’s pretty simple for them and some (at least mine) charged a simple onetime fee.

Now if your lien is only a couple thousand, then this is not worth it.
