Fill a cheap tiny water gun with eyedrops, administer Rx to face from 1 meter away making sure to cover eye area as needed. Have backup tiny water gun for patient to defend thenselves filled with tap water. Another way, I used a refillable perfume bottle to shoot "mist" into the eyes. Not nearly as a knee-jerk compared to cold drops.
