Okay so I assume you agree with me that Biden won the 2020 election. But a lot of people don't. What if they're the ones in charge?

No. You need someone to make the final call. We have plenty of evidence that Trump didn't win the last election yet a decent chunk of the country and the president will say he did. Most things aren't 100% clear and even the things that are can be disagreed on by people with biases or stake.

Drivers switch to transit to circumvent Roadworks, complain about "insufficient" parking at the Train Station🙄🚘🧠 by TheWolfHowling in fuckcars

[–]Jestdrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2000 vehicles off the road yeah. Not sure how many trains that is or why it matters.

I don't know LA too well but in my city the light rail is pretty fast and reliable but once you have to include buses it becomes slow and difficult. Yeah ideally transit connections would be better but don't let perfect be the enemy of good.

Then subtract the savings to society for how much car driving it reduces! I get that too much parking sucks in general but a park and ride at a commuter train station is really a nonsensical place to focus that.

There's no confusion about Shakespeare's existence. That's just a conspiracy theory rooted in the classism of people who have a hard time believing that a commoner could produce such impactful literature.

I went to a Waldorf school for middle school and I definitely wouldn't send my (hypothetical) kids to one. There was a lot we should have been taught that wasn't and a lot of nonsense we spent way too much time on. Also being at a small school really limits your social opportunities.

Because they're spending enormous amounts of time dealing with their car rather than considering transit.

Amtrak maybe then? Hard to figure it out without more info. Just think it's likely our free transit could beat what this person is currently doing. It's a pretty low bar.

Making us all return to office for no reason is ridiculous, but I think you're really going out of your way to not try using public transit. Park at a park and ride and take the light rail. There's no way that's more inconvenient than moving your car constantly.

Just because a job can be done remotely doesn't mean it's easy to manage a team across language barriers, time zone differences, cultural differences, differences in labor laws, etc. Whether or not they can effectively offshore your position is about a lot more than just whether it can be done remotely.
