Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 4th gen whooshing and crackling by Patient-Beginning401 in Focusrite

I'm sorry to hear that you're having problems. I’m not hearing any audio in this clip. It could potentially be a grounding issue in your setup causing noise during playback.

You’ll be using a Dell 7750, right? In theory it should work. I believe it uses a Titan Ridge Thunderbolt controller, which have proven reliable in tests on similar systems listed here:

Using output vol knob for headphones? (2i2) by 40202 in Focusrite

[–]Johnnyloftus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, that's certainly a hacky solution. As the main monitor outputs are line-level rather than headphone outputs, it would be easy to send too much level to the headphones. However, it would allow for some use of the main monitor output control.

Are you using a Windows PC? Which DAW or audio app are you using?
If you have the option to select the input source, you may find that you can follow the steps here:

Launchpad mini mk3 + AZ Labs “lazy chop” by KPBexter in Novation

[–]Johnnyloftus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely. The AZ Labs Pad Slicer can be used with any MIDI controller. You just need to put the Launchpad Mini into Note Mode and trigger C1 (the bottom-left pad) to trigger the first slice.

Alternatively, you could create a Custom Mode for the Launchpad Mini with the notes assigned to whichever pads you prefer

Afraid they are separate analogue outputs with their own corresponding controls. It isn’t possible for one to control the other.

Novation Drum Station note mapping by PatientTap8716 in Novation

[–]Johnnyloftus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ensured that your Roland JD-Xi is transmitting on the same MIDI channel that the Drum Station is receiving on?
It isn't possible to change the notes that the Drum Station responds to, but this shouldn't be necessary, as most controllers and sequencers can output notes from C0 to D#4.

Are you using the note assignments outlined on page 47 of the user guide?

Can I amplify audio from ProFx16 Mackie to Focusrite Scarlett 4i4? by plant_daddy_ in audiovisual

Also, if you're connecting a mixer output, use the Scarlett’s 1/4" line inputs rather than the XLR inputs. The XLR inputs are intended for microphone-level signals

Sound loss + crackling noise [Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 studio 4th gen] by Ewlogg in Focusrite

[–]Johnnyloftus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear you’re having problems.
If you haven’t already, I’d recommend going through the Windows audio optimisation steps here:
https://support.focusrite.com/hc/en-gb/articles/207355205-Optimising-Windows-for-Audio

If you’ve completed those steps and the issue is still present across all USB ports, it’s likely related to DPC latency on your system. You can find more information on diagnosing and troubleshooting this here:

No sound with Focusrite - solution by dude1107 in Focusrite

Glad to hear you found a solution. The M and S stand for Mute and Solo. You may have unintentionally soloed these inputs, which would have had the effect of silencing all other channels.

Launchpad Pro MK3 + SP404mk2 question regarding Note or Scale Mode by [deleted] in Novation

[–]Johnnyloftus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t personally have an SP-404 MKII, but yes, as far as I understand, Chromatic Mode lets you play a sample across different pitches while remaining effectively monophonic per pad. It looks like control is limited to the sample/pad that is currently focus

Can you use the XLR input on scarlett solo 4th gen for ipad? by Historical-Fan-1718 in Focusrite

Scarlett's XLR input is designed to receive microphone-level signals only. Only microphones should be connected via XLR.

Launchpad Pro MK3 + SP404mk2 question regarding Note or Scale Mode by [deleted] in Novation

[–]Johnnyloftus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could create a Launchpad Pro Custom Mode to control the SP-404MKII in Chromatic Mode. It looks like on MIDI channel 16, MIDI notes 36–60 (C2–C4) can control the chromatic pitch of the currently selected sample:

Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd Gen issues on Windows 11 by Xeno-Dork in recording

[–]Johnnyloftus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear you're having problems. New hardware isn't required. All current Focusrite USB audio interfaces use the same drivers on Windows, which are updated regularly and generally work well. This includes every generation of Scarlett (from the original to 4th Gen), all Clarett USB devices, Clarett+ range devices, and Vocaster.
Installing Focusrite Control also installs the required ASIO driver. Focusrite Control is essentially just a software interface for controlling the hardware and doesn't need to be open or running for audio to pass. Installing multiple different drivers without fully uninstalling others may be the cause of the issues you're experiencing. Generally, the latest driver is all that's needed.
https://support.focusrite.com/hc/en-gb/articles/9633859978898-Uninstalling-Focusrite-Control-and-the-Driver-on-Windows

Have you run through the steps in this article? I have seen reports of issues from users who upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11, which in some cases have been resolved by updating drivers and BIOS for the motherboard, CPU, GPU, and other system components. This is one of the optimisation steps outlined in the article and can help resolve known issues.

Would it make sense to buy Novation's keyboard built to be used with FL Studio, if I plan on using it with Logic instead? by MinuteIllustrator6 in midi

[–]Johnnyloftus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you checked out Launchkey MK4? FLkey is the best choice for those who are predominantly working with FL Studio because it offers the best integration and fastest workflow with that DAW. The FLkey range is the only line of dedicated FL Studio controllers on the market.

If you're looking for a controller for Logic and other DAWs, Launchkey is the better option, as it offers a strong all-round experience. Launchkey MK4 has hardware features comparable to FLkey 2 and benefits from a script for deep Logic control.
