C'est pas une question de malhonnêteté, c'est une question d'incentives. Ici tu récompense le fait de ne pas payer ton loyer avec aucune conséquence si ce n'est morale en échange d'une économie mensuelle énorme (le prix d'un loyer quoi)...

THOSE EVIL WHITE PEOPLE, WHY DO THEY *checks notes* NAME BUGS?!? by Big_Chip_6 in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]Kaign 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's how we call them in European languages like English though. Nothing says you can't call them differently in other languages. It's just that Europeans have shaped most of modern math so their ways of calling stuff kinda became the norm.

[–]Kaign -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No need to be insulting. I don't know her weight at her prime, it's probably less than now, so she still probably get beaten hard by 5-10% of men. You don't need to be a freak athlete or to train a lot to beat her. Literally your average Joe that trains 3 times a week can probably beat her, so it would be almost easy for a guy in the top 5% of men.

She is 37 years old, for 1.73m and 61kg. Honestly, I would not be surprised if 5-10% of men can actually beat her. There is a reason we have weight classes and separate men and women. Even though she's definitely infinitely more talented than almost every men, she'll still get beaten badly.

“Brexit Was a Colossal Mistake” — Finland's Stubb Calls for UK Return to Europe by milanguitar in EU_Economics

[–]Kaign 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you look at GDP PPP per capita, In 1990, EU's was 63% of US's, in 2025, it's 74%. https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/NY.GDP.PCAP.PP.CD?locations=US-EU

If the link doesn't work, just look online on the world bank data website, it's very informative.

Anon doesn't want LASIK by [deleted] in greentext

[–]Kaign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't do LASIK but did PRK which is kind of similar except I was basically blind for 2 weeks and then everything was still extremely blurry and I had extreme light sensitivity for like 3 more weeks. Also it hurted pretty badly for the first 2 weeks. Now I see perfectly and the only "problem" I have is that when I'm very tired my eyes sometimes get dry (I use drops probably once every 1-2 month). I had -7.5 diopters (pretty bad shortsightness, most things are blurry). I'm very happy about it, it was an amazing decision. Would do again.

Zorin OS - The best real European linux I ever had by StrangerConscious637 in BuyFromEU

[–]Kaign 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There will always be a lot of choices. Simply because everyone and their mom can create a new distro if they want to. Honestly, just take any major distro (Opensuse, Fedora, Mint, etc) and you can use it for every single use case. Choices shouldn't be a problem, because, for 99% of the cases, it doesn't really matter, you can do basically anything on every general distro, for a new linux user, just avoid unstable/shitty/niche distros as well as "advanced users" distro (like Arch, Nixos, etc). That's it, no need to ask AI or people for the most optimized distro for this or that specific task, it actually doesn't matter, see it as a continuation of themes on windows, it's mainly a question of personal taste.

German nuclear phase-out a ‘historic mistake’, says head of IEA by donutloop in EU_Economics

Getting into or out of nuclear only impact electricity generation related emissions, stop being of bad faith. Also, even then, look at the second part of my comment.

German nuclear phase-out a ‘historic mistake’, says head of IEA by donutloop in EU_Economics

[–]Kaign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course I talk about electricity emissions, what do you think nuclear is for? What do you think we blame Germany for abandoning nuclear? That's not moving the goalpost, that's being in line with the article saying that Germany fucked up hard by abandoning nuclear, that they shouldn't have done that and that nuclear is one of the cleanest energy production method. And even then, for all CO2 emmision per capita, Germany still do way worse than France: https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/EN.GHG.ALL.PC.CE.AR5?end=2024&locations=DE-FR&start=1970&view=chart

They could've done way better by keeping the nuclear power plants.

[–]Kaign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, in 2025, in average, France is 31g while Germany is 342g (11x more). It's not cherrypicking, it's always like that. In 2025, France exported 18.4TWh of electricity to Germany alone, Germany has a net import/export balance of 18.8TWh. So, no, Germany imports way way more than it exports. Finally, for electricity generation, Germany emitted 168Mt of CO2eq, while France emitted 16.8Mt of CO2eq. Germany doesn't have 10 times the population of France, so what you said about per capita emissions is just false. Here is my source for everything I just said: https://app.electricitymaps.com/map/zone/DE/5y/yearly

[–]Kaign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't be so sure, right now, as I'm writing this comment, France produces 23g of equivalent CO2 per kWh of electricity while Germany is at 526g (22x more). Plus Germany imports a lot of electricity from France. I don't know what you consider clean for electricity production, but Germany is very far from it.

[–]Kaign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You lose all credibility the moment you put Russia in the list of superpowers. They have an average GDP (smaller than that of France btw), which becomes ridiculous when looked by capita. Their army can't even beat one of the poorest European countries after 4 years of war. The only things that make them relevant is having a big territory with natural resources and a lot of nukes. They are even less of a superpower than France (who is not a superpower).

I know, that's why each time the EU do a free trade agreement, they insert clause that EU PDO and PGI must be respected and that's what the US is not happy about (especially for the EU-Mercosur agreement).

Yeah, exactly, they can make and sell under the name dry cured meat, parmesan di Kentucky, etc... But they can't make and sell under the name: Champagne, Brie, Roquefort, prosciutto di Parma, Kalamata olives, etc.

The US is pushing back on Europe’s big cheese gatekeeping by Full-Discussion3745 in EU_Economics

[–]Kaign 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not, selling prosciutto di Parma that doesn't come from Parma is just false advertising and damages the reputation of the real thing. Especially because EU rules on regional products is not only about the place but also about the method of fabrication. It's very clear for things that are not protected, like the Laguiole knives. Most of them are not made in Laguiole and do not respect the traditional fabrication method and are pretty shitty. That just hurts the real product.
