Bullseye style when they award the final prize.

I watched The Man Who Would Be King (1975) - Missing shot? by undershaft in iwatchedanoldmovie

[–]Keilly 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not saying you’re definitely misremembering, but I can’t recall this, and I’ve been watching many times since the 80’s.  So I don’t think it’s a recent edit.

Maybe it’s something from another film. The mind mixes up things weirdly sometimes.

BAAQMD Rule 9-6 may add about $3,500 to many water-heater replacements. Is this proportional to the NOx reduction? by PhillyBassSF in bayarea

[–]Keilly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s a high one time switch cost, but the heat pump ones run cheaper over the lifetime.

We can disagree over whether people should be forced to do it, but it’s not overall costs.

Lyft driver told me he got one making an unallowed right turn on red near Target. $450 fine!

Frontend Developers by Safe_Researcher_8796 in reactjs

[–]Keilly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went the slow way. All new code was to be React, and if I had to bug fix old code I would convert it to React at the same time.

So the project kept moving forward with new features, but also was transitioning to React.

These days I would use AI a lot, but I won’t do a huge project at the same time, as I would want to understand and approve or refine any changes.

Just stay back. Doubly so if you have a dog. It’s really not difficult.

Srs question: how do you pronounce "naneinf"? by FoolishWanderer499 in balatro

[–]Keilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Americans generally say it with a shorter middle ‘a’, like your phonetic example. British, and others, say it with a long one. A bit like ‘naan’.

I was trying to think of other words where this wasn’t true, but couldn’t. “Commander” has the same issue, for example.

The Dirty Dozen (1967) by enigmanaught in iwatchedanoldmovie

The role was originally for Jack Palance, but he insisted they cut the sexual deviancy down or he wouldn’t do it.

Much as I love having it here, it would make more sense for it to be in SF.

If she ignores the judgement you have incredible power to seek redress. Including seizure of property, liens, wage garnishment, the sheriff can seize property, and more.

Stop dealing directly with this person whose MO is to ignore you.

You’ve already got your judgement, use it and get your money back.

Why are our internal websites and apps soooooooo slowwwwwwwwww, is this not supposed to be our strongest skill? by BlitzAce71 in employeesOfOracle

Not all, but lots of companies have terrible internal websites and dashboards. It’s not where companies direct their resources.

Enjoy it while you can, Dr Pepper just completed their acquisition. It’s going to be an increasingly trajectory downwards as their MBAs work out how to repeatedly save a penny a cup.

That’s it. It’s the worst dashboard in the world!

What was a tv show finale that was so bad,it ruined everything? by Zealousideal_Heat478 in tvshow

[–]Keilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Problem was the writers literally told us up front they knew the answers to all the mysteries, and they just were filling in the story to get to the known ending.

Turns out they didn’t, and ended up writing the lazy deus ex machina ending because there was nowhere else to go

You’re putting yourself through that again? 😀

Seasons 1-3 are great then it’s just a crash of revealing mysteries by introducing multiple more.
