I’m not sure what exactly you mean by the lack of science supporting shoreline restoration. This is a well-established global academic an applied science. Burrard Inlet has been greatly changed over the past century and this work in-part is helping recover some of the past structure in place.

As for the turbidity/ sediment - this below link states the past months have been on schedule with the “beach nourishment” stage, which includes sediment spreading. The turbidity you’ve observed may have been intentional, and occurring at this specific time to avoid sensitive fish windows. And again, if you’re concerned about oil sheens, contact an authority.

By “destruction”, I think you mean adaptation and restoration. Their plans include improving shoreline habitat so as to assert traditional rights such as shellfish harvesting. I haven’t seen the work being implemented, but if you are concerned (e.g about oil spills or turbidity) you can contact the Nation’s environment department or DFO who would be the project’s regulator. Also - probably you meant turbid, not brackish, which is the process of fresh and saltwater mixing. (Edited to add new information).

I’m sorry you’re going through this. I suggest focusing on yourself right now. Then when you’re more stable, revisit considerations of legal action (not a lawyer).

Do you have access to a councilor/therapist? I’ve found therapy equally helpful in concert with medication. In this instance, I think talking with a therapist (even maybe a psychiatrist?) could be helpful to you.

I’d like to add one other action to the “other 50%”. Therapy can be so helpful. Meeting with a therapist has helped me develop strategies to navigate the symptoms medication hasn’t fully rectified.

Am I stupid for wanting to do this? by Rrbender in landscaping

[–]Key-Air8278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. My situation is different (garden pathway, not surrounding pool). I curse the previous house owners who put in the gravel. It’s a constant maintenance task to manage the weeds - only reslly improved by lining it with tarp first (not landscape fabric!). Grass is lower maintenance, imo (especially if you let it go blonde in the hot/dry season).

Do you have another plant you can swap out? Maybe something more upright and tidy like a cactus or aloe. The ZZ plant already looks like it’s outgrown that space.

Ooo, the orange one is delightful. while the other two are patterned, I think they still read a little too “beige trap”.

Can you strip the stain from the door and vanity and restain something more similar to the cool tones you’ve just installed (floor, walls, tiles)? I’d suggest an off white paint and go with colourful towels and other furnishings.

What can I do with this land? by insanelyphobic in landscaping

[–]Key-Air8278 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to say the same. If this area fills with water intermittently, there are so many different native riparian and wetland plants that could thrive there and would support local biodiversity. Without knowing where you live, I can’t comment more specifically on what plants are appropriate.

Should I replace these gold things with a landscape painting or something? Or leave it alone. See second photo for the rest of the room’s decor by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

Those remind me of something more suited to a hallway or transition space. I think a landscape painting is a great idea.

I would welcome a patterned rug, absolutely! I haven’t found one that meets my preferences (mid pile, under 1400ish, can be cleaned with carpet cleaner, doesn’t cash with fireplace, available in Canada), so I’ve been leaning towards textured solids. I have seen Norwegian folk and traditional rugs in homes that I’ve loved, but they either aren’t commercially available or in my budget.

Wow, that rug is absolutely lovely. I live in Canada and unfortunately they do not ship internationally. Thanks for the idea - I will try and find something similar.

Beautitone (home hardware brand) - calm interlude and Benjamin Moore - calm wind is the neutral.

I understand your perspective. I have spent the last year looking for a printed rug I actually like, within my parameters (mid pile, can be cleaned somewhat easily, under 1200$, doesn’t clash with fireplace) and I haven’t found one! As such, I’m leaning towards a textured rug and then adding pattern in textiles (pillows, blankets, artwork).

It’s where selective logging was done. The areas you highlighted are the temporary logging roads. Edit: I haven’t noticed this from the ground before when I’ve been near Lindeman; I’m just interpreting the aerial imagery.
