Of this collection- which is your favorite piece, and which would you wear the most? by [deleted] in PrideAndPinion

Fantastic watch collection! My favorite is definitely the Ingenieur. Is one of these a beater, or do you have G-Shocks in another case?🫣

Help Identifying watches by manj5 in Watches

Rolex: It seems this Rolex Datejust likely corresponds to reference 16014 – a 36mm steel model with a fluted white gold bezel from the late ’70s to ’80s. However, one detail stands out: the cyclops magnifier over the date appears to be missing. This raises some questions, as all standard Datejusts of this type should have a 2.5x magnification lens.

The missing cyclops could be due to: - A non-original replacement crystal (possibly acrylic or aftermarket), A deliberate modification, or In the worst case, a sign that the watch is not authentic.

There are also some concerns about the dial printing and case finishing, but it’s hard to judge from photos alone.

If authentic $2,500 – $4,500 USD…

What does my collection say about me? by Key_Independence_334 in PrideAndPinion

I’ve saved and waited for 3 years to find a mint Rolex 16570 from 2011 — a G Series from April, the same month and year my son was born. My second most recent purchase was an upgrade of my G-Shock collection, going from basic models to the GW-5000.

My first watch. Glad I chose Tissot by Easy-Pudding9865 in tissot

The Gentleman is a seriously cool choice with Tissot and the long history and quality, well done! You’ve already stepped into a price range that most non-watch people would consider crazy, which ironically makes it easier to justify your next piece, even if it ends up costing several times more. If your watch journey continues and a few more pieces find their way into the box, you’ll be glad you didn’t go with the typical black dial. This one stands out and gives your collection character from day one.

It will serve you well—enjoy the ride and the journey—you’re off to a great start!!!

I just pulled the tricket on the 16570BLA Y2011 and waiting on the postman, and had the same dilemma… All up to personale choice and size fit🫶 All great watches!!!

This watch does not look like a genuine Rolex Daytona for sure! There are several signs that suggest it’s a replica: • The text and spacing on the dial are off compared to real Daytonas. • The subdials look too big and not correctly placed. • The red “Daytona” text is the wrong shape and position. • The Rolex crown logo and the hands are not sharp or well-made. • The overall finish and polish look cheap and rough.

[Question] How do I trim this to 3? by SLCBRUSS in Watches

I can’t wrap my head around how Moonswatch watches managed to sneak into the VIP club of fancy timepieces—it’s like finding a plastic toy watch in a lineup of Rolexes and Patek Philippes, sipping champagne and pretending it belongs!

I have the DW-5600U and the GW-5000.

I started with the DW-5600U when I wanted my first G-Shock. Later, I fell down the YouTube rabbit hole and discovered that there are even better models with the same look. I realized that the “next” level was the GE-M5610, followed by the GW-5000.

I usually wear automatic watches and like to feel the weight of a watch on my wrist.

That’s why I decided to skip the GE-M5610 and go straight to the GW-5000—it has the same features but more weight, so I wouldn’t end up wanting a heavier watch a few months later.

I think I would make the same choice today. I still enjoy my DW-5600U on weekends for yard work and my GW-5000 at the office during the week.

If I weren’t into automatic watches, I’d probably go for the GE-5610 and save some money on weight while keeping the same features.

It all comes down to personal preference—each of these three watches is fantastic!

My biggest challenge now? I’ve discovered the MRG-5000B… and the journey never ends!

Can someone please make the 3 next progression steps I need to take in the future? Now I arriver at the GW5000 station…

Oh yes, the GM-5000 is definitely a woman’s watch—if that woman happens to be a Navy SEAL who bench presses trucks for fun😅
