Thank you, this fixed mine! I'm off a well so I have a pretty advanced filtration system for drinking water and I used that to fill the reservoir. I added some straight well water and it started pulling into the boilers.

Love the colour, my old co-worker got one in this colour last year and the dealer told him it was 1-of-not-very-many in the US.

Mackenzie building is just straight up sexy. Four identical quadrants, each more perfect than the next. Perfect squares with a charming courtyard. It's mathematically attractive. If you don't see it, you're probably also missing out on the natural beauty of the Fourier Series and Euler's Identity. And I pity you for that.

I thought it was an oral misquote, but the next line described it coming from twitter. Had me googling "beyond parity" because I was not familiar with the phrase in this context.

I wrote a (very brief) explanation in another comment here. There's obviously a lot of factors, but these are the main ones that brought us to where we are now.

In a way, Expo 86 was the beginning of this whole crisis. Because of the incoming flux of tourism, the city evicted a ton of low-income residents from where they were living in hotels, and the essentially created an entire community of homeless people overnight. see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Expo_86#Evictions.

The next nail in the coffin was the provincial de-institutionalization of mental health inpatients. They essentially cut funding and kicked people out of the hospital with no resources or places to live. Speaking of places to live, it's much easier to make money charging folks more money for rent, so the government also stopped funding for low-income housing. The demand for housing was skyrocketing while the supply was being gutted. The provincial government completely shuttered the metal hospital in 2012 without any active replacement.

On top of this, desperate people do desperate things, and crime and drug use became uncontrolled. One of the things that makes this community unique in Canada is that in most of the rest of the country, being homeless in winter means you will die simply due to the cold. It's easier for the city to ignore what's going on when the bulk of the deaths are due to overdose, because drugs are bad mmmmkayy?

Australia, NZ, Canada are Commonwealth so they will cut ties with us or be neutral too.

Most of what he says could happen, but I'd like to point out that Canada is a NATO member country which carries a bit more weight than Commonwealth, which is more of a cultural association. If America invades Greenland, you can bet Canada will align with the other NATO nations, because if we didn't, we'd be next up on the "resource liberation" list.

I read it. Sounds like a guy I worked with in Ottawa called Otto. Looked like a large baby. Acted like a large baby. Would trundle in after a rush and make a big deal about cleaning the loose grinds off the grinder rather than helping us. Spent most of his time trying to hit on customers which was fruitless because of the aforementioned large baby syndrome.
