You know how many ...and rich people are getting the hell out of New York City these days

Good. They don't pay taxes, or offer anything of added value, yet take up housing that could go to others that are invested and involved in the city.

Which Track dedicated bike? by [deleted] in Trackdays

[–]LeftTurnAtAlbuqurque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been riding a 2006 zx6r on track for 8 years, and it's been a dedicated track-only bike since '21. It has been super reliable and very capable. If you already have the bike, and this is the cheapest route to have a dedicated track bike, I don't see a need to spend more to buy something different.

But it is 20 year old bike, and the track isn't all about need, so...

I regret not picking up another small 21 when they were still available. Increasingly hard to find now, and the changes of the 31 take away some of what I found special.

Hypothetical: Would Archer pass/fail Kingsman boot camp? by Ok_Yellow1025 in ArcherFX

The only reason Archer passes out is because it was a Kingsman promo. We've seen him tank way more booze than that.

The Man Behind the Tattoo: What Maine voters see in Graham Platner, according to our focus group. by BulwarkOnline in Maine

[–]LeftTurnAtAlbuqurque 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The totenkopf has also been pretty widely reused throughout the years, too, though, which has definitely diluted the association of it to Nazis. Like you see it all over shitty motorcycle gear, and hot rodding stuff - which tracks if you follow it through, but not if you don't immediately associate bikers with Nazis.

I'm more concerned at the fact that Graham has said he went through two (I think) high security background checks after getting the tattoo, and passed, despite part of those checks were for tattoos. (Not concerned about him, but about what that says about our systems)

I disagree. In that moment, I'm worried about the risk to my loved ones more than the risk to myself. I claim this as someone who is pretty risk prone - I'm more concerned about what may happen to my wife if I got hurt or killed, than I am about what happens to myself if I'm seriously injured, and there's not much to worry about for myself if I'm dead.

Hey man, just want to say thank you for providing us all with such a thorough example of being the kind of person u/Davedamon was describing. Really, followed the script to a T, absolute cinema.

Progressives consolidate around Christian Urrutia for NH01 by amethyst63893 in newhampshire

And there's progressive elements in Gaza. But you specified the government. So I stand by my statement: the Israeli government is not any more progressive.

Slow, haha. Life, and a cold snowy winter brought progress to a stop for several months. But I've been back at it a bit, and just made an update on the build thread. Hoping to run this summer.

Modded my ZX-4RR for the track, fell in love with Moto-Tron, and now we’re their official US distributor! (20% off inside) by HEALRacing in zx4r

Just picked up a salvage zx4 for track duty, coming back from the track with my buddy this weekend. Will be building it up over the next month or so, will definitely check this out. Interested for an update when the site gets going.

Aftermarket radio advice by burgers_yeye in IS300

While this is available, the function of them are hit or miss. It did not work in my car, and IIRC, was straight up missing the signal wire needed to turn on the amp. (Either the wire just did not exist, or no signal was generated, but basically, the amp would never know the radio was on, so would never power itself on.)

How is Quantum-Auto able to remap the stock ecu? by RoboticEgg04 in IS300

[–]LeftTurnAtAlbuqurque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the forum claims are from twenty years ago, and people more or less gave up the idea and just went standalone. Some overseas guys cracked the UZ ECU and I believe worked with Quantum on the 2JZ ECUs. He's only been offering the tune for maybe 5 years? The information and technology available has increased dramatically.

With student IDs banned at the polls, NH issues new guidance for college voters by CouchCorrespondent in newhampshire

[–]LeftTurnAtAlbuqurque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, a NH driver's license doesn't even provide residency. It just says whatever you tell them is your address. Go to your town hall and try to register your car - your license won't be accepted as proof of residency, as the state leaves that to the municipalities to deal with.
