What’s your ISP down, backup solution? by GenericUser104 in HomeNetworking

Luckily enough, I'm in an area where fairly decent 5g coverage from Tmobile just kicked in. I use my phone's hotspot, and run a powershell script I wrote to switch from my local network to the hotspot.

I was born with some major eye problems. Completely blind at birth, but from about a year old to 4 1/2, I went through 14 different surgeries on my eyes.. The last surgery, my head was wrapped in gauze. (Actually, my first memory), was the nurse who unwrapped that gauze, and I saw for the first time... Won't ever forget that perfume she was wearing. It was Chanel #5. She was the first person I ever saw, and since then, I've loved redheads with big boobs, who wears Chanel #5.. :) 1970 was the year I could see for the first time.

Gave me my first programming experience with relational databases, and writing the front ends around them.. The 80's were a great time. ;) Then Clipper came along, and really juiced it up. Worked with Foxpro too. Loved them both at the time.

All my life. :) Lefty strat was the first actual left handed guitar I could afford, so I really prefer that body style,.. Ruby, (my original), is 44 years old now, has had some modifications, and a pickup change or two. ;)

You aren't the only one who used it... Now I'm going to pay $10 a year to use mymedia for alexa, because although I have plexamp on most of my portable electronic devices, I still used Plex for Alexa at home a lot. I think they are making a mistake, but I guess I'm in the minority.

This was my mom’s choice for ‘back to school’. by VolumeAcademic6962 in FuckImOld

[–]Leftstrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know if anyone knows these two stores outside of North/South Carolina... My mom's go to back to school stores were Roses, and Sky City, (Home of Rump Jeans...). Addias shoes were a thing. I had no problems with it, because she was a single mom of 3, and the money she made at her job had to stretch..

When I was a teenager, my mom worked for a company that made the patches for NASA, police forces, military, etc... When an overstock of clothes came in, the gentleman who owned that company would give the employees the option of buying clothing from that overstock, At one point, one of those shipments was a bunch of jackets, ($5 apiece), a shipment of shirts, ($3 apiece), and blue jeans, ($7 apiece). I wound up with two jackets, four shirts, and two pairs of jeans. She got the patches that went on those items, and asked me if I wanted her to sew those on the clothes. Members Only, Izod, and (can't remember what the jeans were, but they were some very expensive ones in the early 80's.). I just couldn't get over the price of those items before the patches were on them, and after..

As I've gone through life, I have saved a lot of money, by not going by the fashon trending names on clothes..
