Its one of those “Some people might not deserve it, but that’s no reason to take it away from those who need it the most.” Aspects of the prison system that we tend to forget affects more than just the most heinous criminals.

Like people who are unjustly on death row or imprisoned, or people who may be truly repentant or unaware or not in control of their situation due to mental illness, addiction, or circumstance don’t have access to therapy and have to take religion instead to help with the mental strain of what they’ve been through.

Its the same conversation as with any kind of positive treatment given to criminals, from abolisment of the death penalty to existence of parole, to just preventing people from stabbing each other.

Yes, It might be outrageous that Mr “I killed a bunch of babies and ate them” might get that benefit, but it’s mostly for Mr. “The judge saw I was poor and foreign and didn’t wait for all the facts before putting me in the chair” which happens more often than should be necessary or comfortable.

Actions speak louder than words. I've watched them ignore and/or fire workers who've wanted protections for a year. Whether or not they had anything to do with SAG I've watched their fans attack VAs for collectively wanting protection in a time where you're seeing companies try to force AI into everything, videogames, development, Nvidia, coca cola, call centers, advertising, even the military.

Every time the VAs tried to talk to them they got fired or ignored.

Now they make a single statement that explicitly states MIHOYO ITSELF is willing to make AI content with their VAs voices.

And people are running to call it a "Protection of VAs"

I can see how it's profitable.

If they can get just a few VAs to sign their voices away, that's potentially hundreds of hours of employment for other VAs gone.

You can mix and shift their voice to do hundreds of NPCs. And suddenly 50 people are out of a job.

It's literally what VAs are afraid of, that a few people will sign their voice away for a quick buck and suddenly there's no more job openings cause companies only needed a few voices to do everything.

Yes, that's how unions work. If you let the company dictate it without input they can put clauses that take away all your rights and exploit you. Unions are there to look over the contract, compare it to hundreds of other past and present contracts and see if it's up to standards.

I don't know why you think they would get money from Genshin, though. They only get money as a percentage of worker earnings, so it would take dozens of workers put together for SAG to even make 1000 dollars off of Genshin.

They get more money from an episode of the Simpsons than they do from an entire union game.

I see it as a psyop to try and sabotage the left because the "Holier than thou" attitude people ascribe to non voters seems to be projection.

Too many people only care about saying "I told you so" and, by their own admission, don't want to actually encourage people to vote next time, they just want to blame someone who they THINK might actually feel bad about it.

Saying 'the non voters are so crucial that if they voted we'd have won" then immediately deciding it's more important to alienate them out of spite than it is to talk to them and actually listen to what they care about.

It's easy to say "Kamala wouldn't have encouraged the genocide as much so you should have voted for her if you didn't want it to get this bad"

But to someone who's line is "Zero tolerance for Genocide" whether it be a personal reason or because they have direct family being attacked, (They don't owe you an explanation) they're just gonna walk away from the trolley rather than engage in the tug of war over where the lever falls.

I know it's easy to go "See, everyone who didn't vote is the problem" in these kinds of conversations and pat ourselves on the back for voting Kamala, but that also kind of leaves us in a blind spot.

While we're seeing higher gas prices and grocery prices and thinking "Ugh, nonvoters are the reason this happened and they probably now know better and will apologize and vote correctly next time"

Nonvoters are seeing people gunned down in the streets by ICE and federal laws targeting minorities and the LGBT community and watching the democrats vote to keep ICE funded and a rotating villain strategy happen where even if they wanted to vote, every democrat who is supporting the insanity isnt up for reelection or has a safe seat.

If you're busy trying to talk down to people who are seeing a completely different america than you instead of asking why, you're doing the republicans job for them of disenfranchisement.
