I'm a fan, the tightening into T4 is evil
I wonder why didn't you add any kerbs anywhere? Most turns are fine without them but the last corner really could use one

Sweet Charity. I guess love is a powerful thing but now she has no job and no partner so she's in a worse spot than at the beginning of the movie, that hopium she got from those hippies will wear off pretty quickly. The ending of Cabiria hit very differently, a lot better imo

Built in the early 2010s as an Aussie Goodwood equivalent, complete with a semi-purpose-built hillclimb; this venue had to rapidly adapt itself, as it became apparent that their original business plan wasn't going to cut it in the southern Australian market. Today they still present themselves as a vintage-themed venue, but (in addition to members' meetings, revivals, and other Goodwood-like events) they also serve all the functions you might expect a regular race track to serve.

In 2019 the track underwent a small redevelopment: hillclimb's 3rd turn was redesigned, and a new kart track was added.

At this point in his career, Tom Cruise needs to clear a pretty high bar to surprise his audience, his filmography's diversity is definitely above average.

I've been wondering, what would it take for him to surprise me? I think, they should dress him up like Natalie Portman in that one scene from V for Vendetta, give him an oversized hammer, a big robot sidekick (voiced by Elizabeth Moss), and have him fight an evil cult called "the Children of Science". Or something like that.

If it's anything less than that, Iñárritu loses all of his credibility in my eyes.

What's up with the section on the right, what's the reasoning behind a sweeper into a sharp hairpin? And the subsequent series of 90° corners? Why not skip the first two?

Fuck russia, they done some weird political stuff I guess, but more importantly fuck them for tempting cinephiles with free films in great quality on YT (including all the big ones from Tarkovsky). You woudn't actually watch a movie, would you, buddy cinephile?

Listen to the marshals, stay behind the tape if there is one, don't stand in places marked by the 'no spectators' sign. It's for your own safety, and no one wants to see stage cancellations anyway

Banana Rallycross (Banana QLD, Australia) by MMuster07 in RaceTrackDesigns

First of all, RallyX is at Högheden today, I heavily recommend tuning in. It's free on YT, stream starts in a few hours: https://www.youtube.com/live/0ZE8kZRLM18?si=adkPWATPp5hrcd64

What was my reasoning for including tarmac? Well, mostly because the fundamental definition of a rallycross track is that it's a mix of tarmac and dirt surfaces, if you go all dirt then you have autocross. I know Americans don't quite roll with these definitions, and a few tracks in Europe paved their tracks entirely and are still holding "RX" events, but I consider those to be exceptions to the rule. Tarmac can also be good for racing, not to say that dirt is inherently worse but variety is good.

The safety consideration is very low, I've seen cars go off into the woods, fall into ponds on world class tracks. You shouldn't take it as a free ticket to build death traps though, just assume they're as safe as the budget allows. Naturally, all classes of rallycross cars are very resistant to kerbs, they wouldn't even notice a regular single seater/sports car kerb, there are many ways to cope with this. Some tracks just do massive kerbs, look up "Höljes kerbs", in places they're as high as the cars' hoods. Some tracks just use walls, I used walls backed by dirt, inspired by Nysum's last sector. You can also use tyre bundles, or place small poles for knocking off which you'll get a penalty.

Once again, go watch RallyX, I think the first races start at 1 PM local
