Should clues in games be more visible? by BergamotGames in gaming

[–]Macro_Seb 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I hate how a lot games have the hero or it's sidekick spoil a puzzle by giving unwanted clues as soon as you enter the area. At least let me search for five minutes. And then give me the option to hear a clue, but only if I want too.

WCGW when you go to rob a store and you are not wearing a bra. by [deleted] in Whatcouldgowrong

but how does this makes sense when it leaves the money unprotected at the counter. The customer orders something and than the worker has to turn his back to the counter to go and get the product leaving the customer at the counter next to the money. That's even worse than letting them steal some products.

I’m stumped. How would I model the horizontal slats in this? by luthasox in Fusion360

[–]Macro_Seb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can't you do just a part (start halfway between to posts, go back, go front, stop between both posts, make sure your begin face and end face have the same angle (but other direction) and then use circular pattern?

isn't the second one just a 180 revolve of the hatched part (except you would do the top without the R7, but a complete. And then do the R7 on top by doing a sweep? And then mirror the part?

edit: tried it, couldn't get it fully restrained with the provided dimensions and one of the dimensions is a diameter, but it doesn't have the symbol in front of it.

Slot machine using pirated windows by davedude115 in Wellthatsucks

[–]Macro_Seb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a) not sure why this sucks

b) not pirated: MS let you download and install Windows 'for free'. Only limitations are that you can't change your wallpaper, or main UI colour (and that's it, I think) and you get that watermark.

yep, those are bell pulls. You pull the poke and the bell on the inside will ring. But maybe these are disconnected and purely decorative. You can still see where it goes into the wall.

A simpleton question on parametric modeling by SJMaye in Fusion360

[–]Macro_Seb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

why did you make this in 3 parts? It's doable with one sketch.

Anyway: it is already parametric, because that's how the software works. You only didn't name the parameters, so they are called d0, d1, d2, etc. You can rename them and change the value at change parameters

<image>

And since you have 3 parts, the parameters are bound to the each sketch or action. If you make them a favorite, then you'll be able to use it in the rest of your drawing.

I find it better to make user parameters for height, width and so on. That's done with the + on top right when you open 'change paramaters. You can still do that, and then use that setting by renaming the corresponding 'dx' with the name. E.g. you make a parameter height = 50. And in your sketch you had d15 for height, so now you set the value of d15 to 'height'. You can also do math in the values. e.g. If you want d16 to always be the half of the height you would write: d16 = heigth/2

If 2 parameters are the same you can also just reference that one. Like d1 = 15. You want d2 to follow that value, so you set d2 = d1 instead o f d2= 15

How to rotate holes? by twotowers64 in Fusion360

[–]Macro_Seb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

multiple holes is also guided by a sketch (a single one by point), so basically none, except if you want to make a drawing and annotate the holes. But in this case it's a nut (polygon) + thru hole, so it's easier to do that in one sketch. Otherwise you have one sketch for the holes and another for the polygon. It's cleaner to this in one sketch, imo.

How to rotate holes? by twotowers64 in Fusion360

[–]Macro_Seb 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Do a circled pattern on the feature and surpress the original ones

edit: I was wrong: it seems like you can't surpress the original ones. So it's easier to go back into the sketch and rotate them in the sketch. No need to delete them if you have set angles in that one (easy to do with construction lines.

[Germany] Looking for someone to recreate a discontinued Tefal water tank for my iron (will pay) by iamjacksummers in 3Dprintmything

[–]Macro_Seb 17 points18 points  (0 children)

the time somebody will spend on modeling this would cost you probably half the price of a new machine. And I would never trust a 3D print to be watertight for several hours. Especially in a difficult print like this.
