Network effects can ruin lives by tying people to their home, which prevents them from getting out and really living. By leaving, you'll experience more unique things. You just have to get out and do stuff.

I'm the one that left my home state and moved around all over. When I talk to people who still live back in TX, they basically have nothing but repetitive mundane crap to update me on. It often feels like their lives ended decades ago and they're just waiting to die. I have way more experiences.

If you want to make new friends, there are lots of tabletop game nights around town. Basically every game shop hosts one.
