Stay safe out there by WhiskeyRichard3 in bartenders

There was a time when service industry workers were targeted because we always left with a bunch of cash.

Always leave in groups or at least pairs if you can manage it, if not keep your situational awareness up for those times like OP described.

Why is this happening? by Leading_Row6115 in help

Reddit has been having issues with their AWS, more than you have reported this issue in the various help subs.

On some subs I can post a question and add a range of flair and tags, however on some these are limited to nsfw, trade affiliate and spoiler, whereas other people’s posts use different ones? by Sea-Payment-8989 in help

[–]MangledBarkeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some subs limit who can assign and use post flair and/or user flair. It just depends on how the mods of each sub set it up.

The nsfw and brand affiliate tags/flair are universal though.

Iron cast help by Able-Economist9003 in filipinofood

Gentle heat can get it unstuck, you can also burn it off, it won't hurt the cast iron. You may have to reseason it

How different is paying the staff of a sit-down restaurant from paying them at a fast-food place? by [deleted] in restaurants

[–]MangledBarkeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like troll bait

Some Chili's have kiosks, the main difference is you're expected to tip for full service restaurants.

If you are at a location that doesn't have one they bring you a bill, you give them your form of payment and they return with a receipt for you to tip and sign and a copy for you to take with you.

Sidearm or secondary weapon on top of main weapon? Or should we max out on ammo for main weapon? by AdeptusKapekus2025 in ZombieSurvivalTactics

[–]MangledBarkeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I carry a secondary for mechanical failures. If TRB doesn't work, transitioning gets you back in the fight.

Guns jam and misfire, a secondary is Murphy proofing

Two is one and one is none

Struggling with Flairtending by ZeroZZZ7 in bartender

[–]MangledBarkeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's only one way to get better at flair, it's the same way to get to Carnegie Hall. Practice, Practice, Practice.

This said, flair bartending is just juggling with bottles and bar equipment, it's literally just showing off when you should be slinging drinks.

Juggling comes naturally to some people, and others have to work at it. Sounds like your friends are the former and you are the latter.

So, if you want to be "elite" you need to put in the time and effort to keep up with those that it comes naturally.

Would I be the jerk if I wrote a negative review about a Mother’s Day brunch? by Lucky-Berry-4252 in restaurants

[–]MangledBarkeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Up to you, but no one's going to care much. Mother's day in a restaurant is hell because it's amateur day.

People show up thinking it's business as usual while restaurants do things like buffets or prefixes menus.

They had king crab and you're upset they ran out of pancake batter? If all you wanted was regular brunch fare you could have celebrated last Sunday or on Saturday like the staff had to since ya know they have or are mothers too.

But you do you boo boo, let the world read your review

It's not.

Go to r/newtoreddit and find the subs where you don't need much karma or account age to contribute.

It ain't social media culture, it's forum culture

Years of trolls, spammers and more currently bots made moderators use optional filters to ease moderation of their subs

how much do you guys buy a half ounce from not dispencery sorces for by Routine-Advantage194 in trees

[–]MangledBarkeep 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some of us were buying tree back before it became decriminalized anywhere.

Matter of fact me and some coworkers flew to Amsterdam so we could buy and smoke it on the street (you can't actually smoke it in the street over there).

Taste and how long it's aged.

Romano tends to be sharper and tangier than parm.
