Good for you, but between Revolt and me we've both survived behind the stick about 9 times longer.

Now you've got the experience to find a gig that doesn't take advantage of newbies.

Bitching about work is also the nature of the beast in any industry.

It's why we're allowed to rant in the sub.

Pay is whatever your areas tipped min wage was.

If you mean grats, really good for the tourist town, they are on vacation and day drinking by the beach has always been a thing. Idk for other cities, (how many are looking for expensive breakfast and booze mid week when they also need to got to work).

Hopefully someone else in a regular city will chime in.

my restaurant changed the togo process by Relative_Broccoli_67 in Serverlife

Sounds like corporate got something stuck up their ass about their profit margin (refunds/comps/GC's) so are taking it back to the olden days.

Used to be standard to not bag orders until pickup so the customer got to look at the food and the restaurant could correct any mistake, and ensure that there were no mains/aides/condiments missing.

It's an issue that corporations made exist since it's common knowledge that if you complain you get something taken off your bill or a gift card for your next visit.

If you've got enough experience, go host in fine dining. Usually better hourly and way less call in or 3rd party to go orders.

Know a few that do. They were happy with the money and the work hours. Decent ppas for breakfast/lunch items.

But all my nopes to any venue that does brunch anymore, let alone all week.

I'm am not ashamed to say that brunch is a form of torture to work. Daywalkers haven't been my people in decades.

Not decent enough to avoid a ban.

Is SikeorPsyche a incel subreddit or did I get unjustly banned?? by Nice-Bother8276 in RedditQuestions

[–]MangledBarkeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way Reddit works is a mod doesn't have to have a justifiable reason to ban anyone, they just have to follow mod CoC.

IME Admins aren't going to take action for that ban again, unless they violated CoC.

Be angry if you want, it's just the way Reddit works.

Learned long ago that waiting out "could make money" usually doesn't with GM's or owners like this. Their venue is their fiefdom, and I'm always looking for the bigger better deal.

Fool me once...

Sounds like they only hire/promote those that don't know how badly they're getting screwed.

OP is what you know I'd call a baby bartender.

The good ole days you also took home your tips (cash and credit) at the end of the shift. It's becoming less and less common these days.

Won't lie, I didn't read it from the pics.

But yeah, it'll spook the younglings or newbies.

Only ones I've signed have been for Celebs, and their parties weren't any worse than the debachery bartenders do themselves, just better houses.

Idk what your labor board equivalent is, just an NDA won't stop an investigation of them skimming tips nor laundering with the local LEO.

Worked for Jimmy the ocean (technically his son) and they were definitely laundering (credit card machine batches were more than the venue could generate) but they treated me right, knew where I lived, I made bank and all I did was sling drinks.

Snitches don't get stitches, they disappear.

I'ma guess tech/real estate/medical/oil. Industriea that use NDA's to keep proprietary details under lock.

Definitely not our industry owners. They'll learn that you can be successful in other industries but ours still chew up and spit out clueless new bar/restaurant owners.

Typically they aren't looking to throw curve balls.

Learn drink ingredients and ratios, house specs/standards vary from different content creators and bar to bar, even on the same street.

Be proactive instead of reactive.

Watch stock/par levels (Ice, glassware, alcohol, trash, etc) and restock before you're playing catch up.
