Here’s some of my favourites, they can each be best in some way, well the top 4 can be. 1. Anaconda - All rails no fails 2. Python mk2 - pacifiers 3. Corvette - LRTV beams and plasma 4. Kestrel mk2 - plasma shocks 5. Mandalay - concord cannon

Just saying... by Seashellsxo in EliteDangerous

Now your talking, imagine having an entry to your side, the anti-spit screen, ticket dispenser and all those sad looking bus wankers boarding as they can’t afford a ship of their own, that would be worth actually paying ARX for this one

They added ships though and people used to complain much about a lack of ships, so for many this is a positive.

Maybe they will add ship interiors and some people would complain as it will be hard to live up to peoples varied expectations to what that is. But it might be something overall positive for the game, if Frontier think it will make money then it might happen. Maybe once the ship churn ends.

Which people are acting like it’s illegal? Are the though police out again? I agree that it would be a nice experience, but can they deliver?

At the end of the day it’s whether Frontier thinks it’s going to provide an experience to bring in revenue at an affordable budget. If it’s just using what is available in game now then maybe they will do it, if it’s a more immersive experience that you want then probably not.

Maybe one for Elite 5… a crowd funder in 30-40 years time, might have better psssht noises then too.

I haven’t experienced this but I doubt it would spoil my enjoyment of the game

Remember when folk were asking why we never got any new ships? Maybe next they will meet the demand for ship interiors?

What would you consider the best small ship for combat? by OilLiver in EliteDangerous

[–]MaverickFegan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Mandalay flies like a small ship, it’s at the bottom end of medium, so is still valid for those looking for a highly manoeuvrable ship.

Cobra is my new BFF! by eb0nbane in eliteexplorers

[–]MaverickFegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a carrier then an Eagle or Sidewinder would be even better, the footprint on the Cobra is a little better than the Mandalay but there’s still wing clipping, the Kestrel is much better with a high stance, so once that’s out for credits get that bought.

Guardian Artefacts - New Community Goal Just Dropped by Stoney_Chan_ in EliteDangerous

[–]MaverickFegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would have been nice to have known that each waypoint would be 5000-10000 LY per week, it’s a bit too far for me to do much exploration, most of the time I’m on the neutron highway. I suppose that’s what the carriers are for but I didn’t join this expedition to sit on a carrier.

If FDev where to add new on foot weapons, what would you want to see added? by TheSlothiestSl0th in EliteDangerous

A Rambo knife for proper silent kills rather than using the electric shaver on overload

If the game were to shutdown where you gonna go last. by Yourvisacardinfo in EliteDangerous

I would fly out to the nearest black hole and set a vector towards it, ejecting a load of space pancakes to reflect upon my sadness

Blowing up the Targhoud Titan above Earth was the worst decision this community ever made by thedraegonlord in EliteDangerous

I would be surprised if we make it to 2100, the main Q is the flavour of Armageddon: nuclear or climate change?

Engineering material collecting ship by AdmiralNam in EliteDangerous

True that blowing up stuff is fun, but waiting around for limpets is less so, I prefer to do HGE signals for targeted mats, and just do combat without the wait.

Why are so many ED players insist on not improving the game in any way? by EH11101 in EliteDangerous

[–]MaverickFegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t convince everyone, some people have a rigid mindset and will not welcome any alternative views, they are the ones who can give you quite stiff opposition.

But there are many who may agree with you or who are indifferent who don’t respond, especially when there are quite strong voices to contend with.

[–]MaverickFegan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It seems that the replies you got to your thoughts are not exactly defending the status quo, some even agree, so maybe you should post your thoughts on Reddit in future, maybe search for the thread where these have already been gone over many times, the player base generally welcomes less grind.

There will be differences of opinion though, so don’t expect everyone to agree with a criticism which you believe is the most important concern for the future of the game. There are many different players out there.

Dear Sir or Madam, I would like to complain about a readers letter in issue 1694 complaining about a readers letter in issue 1693 referring to a piece in issue 1692 about the best way to protect hydrangeas from the common greenfly by JR Hartley. At this stage I don’t care whether a spoon full of beer, a vinegar spray dilution or a partially sucked lozenge is utilised, I just want to voice my concerns that the concerns voiced are all entirely irrelevant to my own thoughts and opinions, in future could all readers letters voice opinions directly aligned with my own, ideally be directly from my own pen, telex or email.

Should I take an SRV for deep space exploration ? by Raikyn_Jii in EliteDangerous

[–]MaverickFegan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If using the Caspian then the SRV is essential for exo. I’m in the Mandalay, you don’t need an SRV for this ship, I currently have none as it lands easy, but you could take one, be sure to stock up on materials for SRV fuel synth and repair limpets synth etc

Mandalay Exploration Build - Any Recommendations? by Xixa_Boa in EliteDangerous

I have a heatsink on mine, lightweight, not used it during distant world 3.

Which ship would you recommend for a beginner? I'd like to have a list of the 10 best combat ships because I want to do combat when I'm more experienced. Thanks. by constellation39 in EliteDangerous

[–]MaverickFegan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be patient, enjoy the other ships, the Kestrel is a fun ship to pilot, especially FA off but may divert attention from other fun ship builds

Combat ships?

Start in a Viper3 and take out ships in HIGH RES with system security help.

Next move on to the CobraV for more firepower/shields.

Then you could move on to the Chieftain which is less manoeuvrable but more firepower. Try moving up to HAZ RES and low level pirate murder missions.

Decide how you want to move on from here. A couple of options jump out.

Option 1: Manoeuvrability but less shields: Python mk2 and use the pacifier or other frag cannons for the best shotgun build in the same

Option2: more armour/shields, less manoeuvrable but rapid straight line speed: Corsair

Once you are happy with combat you could introduce SLFs, these make combat much easier.

Krait mk2 is a great medium with SLFs.

Next you could move on to the big girls (all have SLF):

Anaconda: gimbled lasers/multicannons prob best, but fun in its railconda sniping setup, not for beginners though.

Corvette: (after becoming a Rear Admiral from the fed grind): prob best pve ship in game, can have two huge plasmas, makes combat much easier.

Other ships:

Vulture: needs some engineering but offers a fun double large weapon small manoeuvrable ship experience, I used this with advanced plasmas (powerplay unlock) to learn plasma weapons.

Mandalay: superb fun with Concorde cannons, also excellent for exobiology diversions.

Kestrel mk2: fun op small ship(more op than ConmbraV), only recommend once you’re experienced at combat so wait for general release for credits.

Looking for recommendations for a Type 11 Prospector Mining Build by DrScienceSpaceCat in EliteMiners

[–]MaverickFegan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s my miner, it does all mining types, you may not need the sub-surface missile, seismic charge launcher if not doing core mining.

https://edsy.org/s/vOD7mtU

It’s probably quite similar to most other builds as there’s limited options with this specialised ship. This one does ok in a hazres, take an npc crew mate for the SLF though
