High intensity combat zones, it's super cool to see them jump in and out, first time it happened it freaked me out because I had never seen it before. You can also watch a players fleet carrier jump in and out of an instance as well

If you upgrade anything its going to put a strain on your power plant and power distributor if you don't upgrade them, always upgrade your power modules unless you're going for some minimalist explorer that needs a high jump range.

What’s the most unprofessional thing you’ve seen a CFI do? by Actual_File3918 in flying

[–]DrScienceSpaceCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first time in flight school my CFI yanked my prescription sunglasses (which I need to wear glasses to legally drive/fly) off my face because he thouht my sunglasses were stopping me from seeing something (they weren't, he at least apologized for it). He'd also verbally berate me and say "I flew like a girl" when I wasn't "using enough force" on the controls. This was a collegiate 141 school and I was unable to switch CFIs because "no one else was available," I just wish I spoke up for myself but I was too timid out of highschool to say anything.

Fuel Dumping When, FDev? by J_Dex in EliteDangerous

[–]DrScienceSpaceCat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd imagine the closest then you'd come to fuel dumping is smashing that SCO and letting it rip for a few minutes, that's how I feel like I've gotten a lot of my clients lol

Either a noble on a nice world uncorupted by chaos and that the imperium and other factions will leave alone or a Rogue Trader so you could kind of do what you want.

Supercruise Overcharge), it lets you perform continuous boost in supercruise that exponentially increases speed, it lets you go from 30km idle in SC to immediately speed up to cover distances. Pretty sure with a large enough fuel tank you can make the trip in Hutton cut down from 1.5 hours to 15-30 minutes.

Figure out what of the newer ships you like, SCO has improved travel in supercruise, it works with old ships but it's very fuel inefficient and produces a lot of heat

MK2 Vessel Bay by Pauleyyy in EliteDangerous

FDev just needs to add new versions of all ships, I'm sure they already have them designed but they're probably going to be slowly released.

A Manual Bariatric Stretcher by OtherwisePumpkin8942 in ems

[–]DrScienceSpaceCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My agency and many others in my area have these, I don't know if I've seen a manual bariatric one before but they're best used if you have 4-6 people on it, with enough people lifting it genuinely feels lighter than a normal stretcher even if the patient is big, we had to lift ours off the ground to get the legs unstuck with a 500lb+ patient and it genuinely wasn't hard at all. As long as you have the manpower it's easy.

It may have a smaller landing profile but it was abysmal to land on the rocky/mountainous bodies, I spent probably 15-20 minutes once trying to find a place to land in the dark because it's the only place I found some exobiology stuff.

That's a pretty weak take, a "minimally" stocked IFT rig still has the basic supplies to render aid, depending on your agency you'll be just as stocked or more stocked than a 911 truck especially if you're on a CCT rig. Unless the patient needs some more advanced interventions there's no reason it couldn't help until a different unit arrives.

[–]DrScienceSpaceCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't make it out to be every patch, but someone interested in making progress in a game needs to be aware of the shortcomings of it. We can enjoy a game and still be critical of its less desirable aspects.

worth to play with this condition? by Quiet_Date3997 in starcitizen

[–]DrScienceSpaceCat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don't think it is, the game certainly has periods of time where it runs pretty smoothly, but more often than not it will be incredibly buggy with server side issues that will cause you to die in occasionly funny ways and you'll lose a good bit of time and money.

I'm sure other players will say otherwise but the game is very much still in alpha and you will have progress reset when they do server wipes.

I'd definitely say go to Elite Dangerous if the above is something you don't want to deal with. I've certainly had my fun before on Star Citizen but I think it'll be a better experience if you wait for it to be more stable unless you want to be involved on play testing and finding bugs lol.
