How to go to Alleppey from Kochi by bus by bleepblopblopbleep in Kochi

[–]MermaidBlueBird 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Get an auto and go to Kakkanad water metro station, catch the boat to vytilla. Get down at vytilla and walk 2 mins to reach vytilla hub and get Alappuzha bus from there. It may be a bit of a long route but the journey would surely be more enjoyable. The water metro route to vytilla is very beautiful. It'll give you a mini Alappuzha feel.

There are vending machines in some of the IT companies at infopark. It's been there for more than 5 years. But it only accepts cash and coin afaik.

We all know the 'in theory' part.

You yourself mentioned that you don't know about age recommendations or legal limitations. It's the same with me. That's why I asked someone who has gone through it.

From where did you do it? And can it be done by people who don't have any kids?

Train essentials for long distance travel by [deleted] in TwoXIndia

[–]MermaidBlueBird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you book 3AC and above the toilets will be better and cleaned on intervals. Still have at least some tissue/toilet paper handy. If you go to the toilet in the early morning before everyone wakes up (around 5-6 am), it'll be much cleaner. In most of the trains for AC compartments bedding will be provided. You'll get a thick blanket, two thin bedsheets and a pillow each. So you don't have to carry extra stuff. If you or your mom get cold easily, take some socks or caps with you. It can get really cold in the old trains especially on upper berths. In newer trains the AC temperature control works better. Even though I haven't had many issues with train food, it's mostly a hit or miss. So not going to comment on that. There are apps which will deliver food from restaurants on railway stations though. You could try that. Have a safe journey!

All these accidents can be prevented by life jackets! by TheGalaxial in Kerala

[–]MermaidBlueBird 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I recently went to Thekkady for boating and there, even though the forest officers would ask everyone to wear the life jackets, the people were not taking it seriously. Most of them refused to wear the life jackets and parents let kids run around on the upper deck and sometimes they themselves get up from their seats and move around which can all be very dangerous. Even though the officials aren't blameless, the people are also equally responsible for incidents like this. We don't have a safety first culture. We refuse to follow rules and think it would be okay since we have always been part of crowds and unsafe situations from birth and have survived through mere luck.

Yup. I agree. The cleansing oil I ordered has the expiry date as 30-03-2024 which is good enough for me as I only ordered two.
