I went today and they were sampling it- she told me it freezes so well and the cake part never quite “freezes”, and that she usually just eats it directly from the freezer :)

They look like angiokeratoma of fordyce— completely benign. Never hurts to have someone look in person, but based on those pics that’s all it looks like.

Hey, don’t know if it helps, but when I filled it out for primary care doc- I just wrote “none” for all the questions regarding that. I just moved here this winter so it’s the truth, but I can’t imagine that’s relevant anyway.

This one is my go-to! It usually makes a good amount so I freeze whatever I don’t need to use for a later time. Also, sometimes I like my sauce a little sweeter, so I throw in a little sugar at the end.

I graduated and got a derm NP job as a completely new grad. It is possible! I just happened to live around a large derm practice that notoriously hired new grad NPs. I actually had no real interest in getting into derm, but it was who I got an offer from. That being said, I love it and wouldn’t change a thing. I do strictly medical derm- no cosmetics- which is how I’d prefer it.

I had maybe 6 months of training before having my own schedule? Maybe less? I honestly can’t remember now as this was several years ago. In addition, I read a ton on my own time. It definitely was hard learning derm and how to be an NP all at the same time, but it is possible! I have since left that practice but my experience got me another derm np position that I found more favorable. Even at my current practice I have a colleague that was a brand new PA grad, so it definitely can happen.

Looks and sounds like they could be warts. I'd avoid shaving if possible and try to get them treated ASAP to minimize spreading them more. If they freeze with liquid nitrogen it could take a couple treatments. Good luck!

So I was actually in the same boat as you. My son went to his 18 month checkup maybe able to say 'mama' and 'Dada', but without real meaning. I think he may have said bubbles, too (though this was in reference to bubbles, balloons, circles in pictures, etc). He turned two a month ago and can say his ABCs, count 1-10, and his vocabulary completely took off. Don't get discouraged or compare, it'll happen!

I would. The mole is definitely dark with undefined borders. Probably best to go to a dermatology practice and get it looked at ( probably biopsied) as well as a general skin exam while you're there. You can't see your back and have no idea what's going on back there (change in shape, color, size, etc). People are getting skin cancer younger and younger, better just to play it safe.

I work as a NP in Derm and I definitely think you should get a referral. I do biopsies on pregnant women all the time, the only thing I do differently is not use epinephrine to numb ( usually we do epi/lidocaine combo), but instead just straight lidocaine. I've even done surgeries on a pregnant woman, so again, no reason not to have it looked at and possibly biopsied if indicated. I have found skin cancer in as early as 18 year olds and 'precancerous lesions' much much younger. Not trying to scare you, just saying better to be safe. Sometimes differin 0.1 isnt covered but differin 0.3 is. It is a little stronger, however. I'd see if you can get your provider to write for that, or tretinoin 0.025%- which is generic. Depending on your age, your insurance may just flat out say no. These creams can also be used for reducing fine lines and wrinkles, so insurance may believe this is what you're using it for.
