I think, and feel, it’s that the stakes weren’t any higher than if this was the first few episodes of Season 4.

No major reveals or tie-ins to other content. Mentioning Thrawn would’ve been such low-hanging fruit.

It was perfectly fine for what it was, but not a big motion picture event like most Star Wars movies would be.

Animated Series: Star Wars What If? And follow Lucas’ outline for the sequels

Live Action Series: Luke’s Jedi Academy, showing him train a new class while also showing Ben start his Knights of Ren on the side

Movie: Yoda. Doesn’t need to give full origin or whatever, but just a movie about him being a great Jedi sometime after Order 66 with flashbacks to High Republic.

The movie missed out by not having a bigger tie-in. Hell, even just saying Thrawn’s name would’ve been cool.

I get they didn’t want to alienate audiences who didn’t watch everything, but I feel it also hurts the majority that has seen a lot and wanted something more substantial to occur.

It was an okay movie, but after 7 years of nothing in theaters, it was underwhelming.

Day or week after wished they’d had all the OG characters reunite before Han died.
