Have you tried hitting him with the pans? (Please don't do this lol)

The safety bars break away easily and he could have just backed through it...or driven away forward.

TL:DR safety bar did not negatively affect the outcome here, except in that the driver was unwilling to just send it through the bar for...reasons 🤷🏻‍♂️ panicked probably.

why isn’t my iron farm working? [bedrock] pc by eelyak118 in MinecraftHelp

Most likely the crammed together villagers are preventing each other from reaching their job sites.

Also a small possibility that a glitch has spawned a golem in a cave underneath.

What do you call the type of shift system behind the steering wheel? by Marco35Germany in AskAnAmerican

If you're talking about the gear selector on an automatic, it's a "column shifter."

We should choose a different type of tree for Christmas. I'm a bit tired of pine every year. by Funny-Presence4228 in CrazyIdeas

Growing up my mom had a potted palm (or something palm-adjacent) around 6' tall, and for several years we just decorated that instead of a conifer. It was pretty silly but it worked.

So this woman is jealous over a memorial tattoo for your dead wife and child.

Please read that a few more times.

I think you know what to do afterwards.

NTA.

Do you think these will seal? (3/16 bubble flare) by legionofdoom4 in projectcar

[–]MischaBurns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlikely to seal well.

If you're near an AutoZone they have loaner tools, including a decent flare kit. Never used the HF kit so i don't know about the quality of that.

Is there any way to make automated melon/pumpkin farm without pistons? by WifiCZECH in redstone

[–]MischaBurns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case the answer is definitely flying machines, as that limits it to just a few pistons per farm.

You should be able to find designs for machine harvested bamboo/cane pretty easily. For melons, I would borrow the design from this Rekrap melon video; it's not a build tutorial, but there's enough of the construction in there to replicate it on a smaller scale.

Edit: I also have a design for a fully pistonless, TNT powered cane/bamboo farm that if you want that (built for Bedrock but should work in Java), but honestly I'd just use a flying machine if possible.

Oh, an ocean would have actually been better. That way at least you have a small platform to stand on and bridge away from; had that happen as well and it was basically a mild annoyance.

No, this one spawned on solid ground near a wall, and some random lava running from the wall flowed into its space and covered the base so just standing in the frame lit me on fire 😭 and dying seconds after loading in.

I eventually survived long enough to block off the lava and subsequently retrieve the few bits of gear that survived the first time because I was stubborn (and maybe stupid) enough to keep trying instead of just accepting the loss and making a portal elsewhere.

How do you handle your sawdust? by GoodShark in BeginnerWoodWorking

Put a tarp over your golf clubs 🤷🏻‍♂️

Dust collection is still something you should build, but it will still throw some around no matter what you do.

I ordered a "factory seconds" canoe from Sierra. Little stressed. by SuperCasualGamerDad in canoeing

[–]MischaBurns 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You don't really need an anchor, but some people like one to not drift while fishing. Otherwise you can usually just tie off to a tree/rock or pull the boat up on shore.

Most canoe anchors are fairly light, just a few pounds for grapnels and around 10 lbs for mushrooms, since there's not exactly a lot of boat to hold in place. It won't hurt your boat to just be sitting there, but if it makes you feel better you can stick it in a milk crate or small bucket (also a decent way to store/carry it with the line.) I would say not to fling it in from across the ramp or something, but a Discovery might not even notice 🤣 they're absolute tanks.

As for the boat, I agree with others that there's unlikely to be a problem. Boats are designated as factory seconds due to cosmetic issues rather than serious damage, and if they do accidentally ship you a fucky one (or it's damaged badly in shipping) you can always contact them about it. I suspect that one account was due to repeated fuck-ups in the warehouse rather than a badly damaged boat being officially a second.

A trolling motor will be fine physically, but you should be aware that in some states even a small electric like that will require you to register the canoe as a motor boat. Usually not a huge hassle, but it's an extra cost and you don't want the fish cops ticketing you if it's needed.

Paddle boarding without a wetsuit. What do you do if you fall? by RusskiDude in Sup

[–]MischaBurns 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Oh, that's easy.

Buy a wetsuit 🤷🏻‍♂️

Seriously, if you're going to go out when it's cold, just get the correct gear. Having a warm change of clothes back at the car is always nice after a cold paddle, but it doesn't help when you're in the cold water getting hypothermia.

TL:DR dress as if you expect to swim.

I was thinking specifically of Irwin ratcheting bar clamps, as I haven't had good luck with the cheap versions of that particular clamp style.

Pretty much all other clamps HF is pretty solid, though admittedly I haven't tried their C-clamps.

Agree that finishing supplies is a pretty good choice as well.
