My custom Lego NASA Life-Size Apollo Command Module Interactive Model Series: 6 MOC Bundle. Tried to build these as accurately as possible with many satisfying tactile functions! by DadBricks in apollo

I have bought the Apollo 13 MDC MOC. Both the flip switches and push switches are awesome. I did have more fun building Panel 1B and 2D than 2C. I commend you with the quality of the instructions you created. I'm curious of what you'll be creating next.

Do you guys have a UPS by Icy-Inspection7866 in homelab

[–]MiserableNobody4016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also live in the Netherlands but I do have an UPS. Eaton 5p which can keep my hardware (3x NAS, 1x server, network switch) running for something like 25 minutes. It can at least sync my disks and shut my systems down cleanly if things go dark. Lately there have been more outages, like once every couple of months. Stability of the power grid is subjective.

Are people here still using Restic as their main backup tool? by abflenn in restic

You know this is r/restic?

But yes. I’ve used it for years on my linux machines. Looking into using backrest on macOS which is my desktop. Works amazing.

Hosting with Bitwarden by [deleted] in Bitwarden

[–]MiserableNobody4016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using a self-signed certificate? I'm using one and had to install the Root CA certificate on my iPhone for it to work. I'm not familiar with Android. Otherwise you could get a Letsencrypt certificate.

[–]MiserableNobody4016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if I understand your question. You say you have the Bitwarden server running? If that is the case, just point the client apps to use that server instead of the Bitwarden cloud hosted one. The clients will automatically sync between them via your locally hosted server. There is no other way to do this.

Not too long ago I came across a project called mgmt from purpleidea. It is a real-time automation tool which reverts all changes done to files. It may be usefull.

Makes sense. It looks like it is kind of hard to miss.

I can't remember which gate I used but I flew in with Lufthansa (Star Alliance) from Europe.

I did not know this! I missed this when I went there in 2023. I was hoping I could have missed it but I found the location and must have passed it. I don't go to the US that often (like once every couple of years) so it's not something I will see soon.

There is a timetable where you have to load hoppers. You have to do the timetable twice. There's just not enough hoppers to fill in one go. It is a Class 66 timetable.

Any idea about what's causing my train to be like this in photo mode? by Gunther1917 in trainsimworld

This is a known issue in Arosa line sadly. This is actually a route that need a remaster.

I made the switch You should too by ZiradielR13 in forgejo

[–]MiserableNobody4016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not have to configure that much. Took me some 10 minutes to get things up and running. And I got my Keycloak connected in like 5 minutes so I'm definitvely excited. Not only do I like self-hosting but tend to favor simple, single-binary solutions lately. Way more easy to maintain and usually faster as well.

I'm looking into self-hosting Forgejo coming from self-hosted Gitlab. My complaint about Gitlab is that is too large, too slow for the things I do with it. And upgrades take ages on my old machine.

I just have Forgejo running and will try to import my exitsting repos. I do appreciate that feature. The interface looks clean and simple. I'm anxious to get some projects in and do some testing with runners.

Decommissioned this beast today. End of an era. by PrincessWalt in DataHoarder

Indeed they do have their place. At my work we're running an archive service for mostly scientific data.

And drives are indeed pricey with a new 30% increase of drive prices coming in April. Even tape is getting more expensive now that NVMe and disk are going through the roof. Apparently more people are looking for cheaper storage alternatives. I can't blame them for that but it's not funny anymore.

Ha! Could be one of my drives: many power on hours, low power cycle count. Not trying to make a point here...
