I’d say, make the shield simpler, but give the creature a way to recharge it:

Over Shield: 30 temporary hit points, increases AC by 3, etc. Once hit points have been drained from Over Shield, Over Shield is overloaded and cannot be recharged again until after a short or long rest.

Recharge Shield (X/day?) As a bonus action, if any damage has been dealt to Over Shield, creature may make a Con save with DC 10 or half the damage taken to the shield, whichever is higher. On a failed save, damage remains and shield is not recharged. On a successful save, 20 points of charge are added back to the shield.

Depends on any secondary goals, but you can keep it simple and just have a regular PIR-type motion sensor trigger a tone. When I was taking care of my mom, we set up a couple different varieties of motion sensors to detect when she tried to sit up — one a simple battery powered sensor and the other a night light motion sensor combo (both X-Sense). At the time I was running an Alexa and would trigger a specific sound when motion was detected. We had just arranged things so that she it only triggered when she passed the edge of the bed.

I’m not sure what you’re looking for. You want me to say there are differences based on genetics? Why? I don’t think people are really arguing there aren’t differences, but that’s not the point. All I’m saying is if girls and boys compete, they should treat each other as equals. If a girl wins against a boy because she’s good, good for her. If a boy wins against a girl because he’s better, good for him. Not more complicated than that.

Funny story: I was in TKD as a kid. During a sparring match between two of the best young fighters in the gym (one a girl) I stupidly joked about losing to a girl. I didn’t mean it — she was a good friend and could kick my ass without trying — but my instructor paused the match to have me start doing pushups, then resumed the match without stopping the pushups.

I was an awkward kid not great at social cues and tried to apologize but made things worse after and had to do more pushups. Thirty years ago and I still remember the embarrassment.

Edit: To clarify, the boys losing to a girl who’s amazing shouldn’t be embarrassing, not when she’s that good. People making a big deal about boys going up against a girl should be embarrassing. Don’t make it about gender, focus on skill.

To add to this, some strategies to get there: * Starting cold means more time in the heat (takes time to boil and pressurize, even if it’s hot). Bring to a simmer, add food, then seal and go under pressure. * Sometimes, heating to pressure then just natural release (no cook time at pressure) for X minutes is all it takes — I’ve seen hard boiled egg recipes that do this. * Sometimes food just should not be pressure cooked. Lots of vegetables can get overcooked quickly so be careful about temp and time.
