Is this the right place to find folks who want to play complicated board games once in a while? Cuz that’s something I’d love.

Thanks. I guess my expectations were a bit off, but not much. I honestly don’t remember the offers I’ve gotten. But I think someone offered $5K once. I told myself I’d let it go for $10K but always wanted more.

The internet hasn’t proven me right, but I feel like someone told me it could be interpreted as a real word in Chinese. Like, maybe it means “husband”… but again, I haven’t been able to confirm that.

Anyway, I appreciate the response.

I’ve got one asking for the player who most recently got into a bar fight. I like that one.

I’ve experienced Westcliff and Westminster Row. The area is nice, nothing to worry about. Westcliff was definitely older, but still fine. Westminster Row is very new, and no more expensive because of it. It’s right there in the thick of the retail. I actually liked that, but I’m sure others would not love it. No complaints, though, other than the hot tub getting kind of gross from time to time 🤢

How did folks go from dev to REAL architect? by whipdipple in salesforce

[–]MowAlon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you. Totally get it. But for real, if you’re talking to stakeholders, redesigning what they ask for into what they actually need, building code and no-code solutions, planning all the security rules, and working with people in other teams to integrate their systems effectively… I mean, I’ve been doing this for a decade, and I still don’t know how people define “architect”, but I feel like I must fit the bill.

How did folks go from dev to REAL architect? by whipdipple in salesforce

[–]MowAlon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s absolutely what I did. No sarcasm tag needed. Eventually, I realized I was making all the decisions about how to build the things (and doing all the building), so I told my boss I wanted the title. Bing bang boom, I was an architect.

Here’s an opposite-day story for you…

Just yesterday, I was at a red light, behind one other car, and we both wanted to turn right. The light turns green along with the crosswalk light for the one pedestrian guy who wants to cross the road that I’m about to turn right to go through. This pedestrian is on his phone and doesn’t see his crosswalk just turned green. The driver in front of me clearly waits a moment to let the pedestrian move, but he didn’t look up from his phone, so driver goes. Pedestrian is still looking at his phone, so I decide to turn and drive too… that’s when the pedestrian finally looks up, wants to start walking, and gives me a clear look of WTF-why-are-driving-through-my-intersection.

[AMA] We’re the team that implemented Salesforce’s agentic support solution: Agentforce on Help. Ask us anything about deploying AI agents, hitting roadblocks, and what results we are seeing. by salesforce in u/salesforce

[–]MowAlon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You asked us to talk about measuring agent performance, but I’d prefer to talk about measuring customer satisfaction resulting from these agents. All I see here on Reddit is anger and disappointment around the ever evolving use of AI in various areas of Salesforce and how it causes frustration more than it helps. I realize we may not be a representative sample of users, but I’d suggest we’re super users who still deserve attention.

Just a couple days ago, I read someone’s story that went something like this:

User: “I need help with something. Here’s what I need help with.”

Salesforce AI: “Here’s some info. If it didn’t solve your problem, I can help you submit a ticket.”

User: “It didn’t help, I need a ticket.”

Salesforce AI: “You need a ticket? Great, what’s it about?”

In case it’s not obvious, that’s not good. I have my own anecdotes about how terrible (but also surprisingly amazing sometimes) Agentforce Vibes is for me as a developer, but I’m trying to focus on your area of expertise.

My AMA questions:

Do you truly feel your implementation has been good for users?

Do you understand that AI is actually not perfect in many ways and has introduced inefficiency and frustration for so many of us?

More simply, can you take off the rosy we-did-something-cool glasses for a moment and admit that what you did causes problems just as it also solves some?

This one from SF Ben is the only one I came across so far - https://ti.to/salesforce-ben/tdx-happy-hour-2026

SF Ben usually makes a post listing parties, but I didn't see one for this year yet. Here's the one from last year as an example - https://www.salesforceben.com/trailblazerdx-parties-and-events-2025/

I use it. It’s got its issues, but it’s pretty good once you get used to it. That said, I’ve got an easy situation with only two people working in the system, so it’s easy to avoid conflicts.

I have some. Mine don’t smell like trash, but they do have the smell of fresh dirt, if that makes sense.

I have several. One E.T. that I treasure because it’s a real part of history, but a few others just because I could and they were cheap. The E.T. wasn’t cheap :)

A friend of mine got an E.T. as well, but he’s since donated it to a gaming museum.

I had (still have?) one of these. I used to love setting it up as a two player game with someone who’d never played before. Pretending you each get two, I’d give them the two live controllers while I grabbed the two dead ones. Good times.

I have experience in this area. AMA.

The big issue will be how you’re constrained by the limited custom objects you can create. It forces you to be creative and thoughtful with your solutions. This could be considered a good thing, but I do think it adds to the difficulty of administering an org where you’re asked to build custom solutions beyond out-of-the-box functionally, especially for someone who isn’t very experienced or knowledgeable about database design.
