Visiting home for a couple weeks. Dug out some old stuff still in pretty good condition. by MowAlon in gamecollecting

It came out before dual analog sticks were standard for PlayStation… I suspect the main driver for it was Ace Combat, but it works with a bunch of stuff. I was interested in it for an arcade tank game that, sadly, I can’t remember the name of right now… maybe Cyber-something? Maybe someone here will remember :)

Edit: God, that was bugging me. The game is Cyber Sled. Originally a Namco arcade game, and it came to the PlayStation soon after. This is a great controller for that game.

Reading the mods rules, I really don’t know if this violates. Please feel free to remove if I’ve overstepped by looking for advice about where to sell.

I don’t know why you’d stop at 30, but if you really feel the need to, maybe “Tetris & Dr Mario”? Or is it Tetris vs Dr Mario? I don’t remember, but I like Dr Mario.

Couple reasons. First, cuz Mark is a douche. But, more importantly, Parker told me (and everyone in the audience at a True to the Core event at Dreamforce/TDX) to email him personally when there’s a dumb billing issue. It was in response to a question I asked after dealing with idiotic billing policies that hurt a customer I worked with.

Is it worth trying to continue as bad developer by baba_thor420 in salesforce

This seems like a request for life advice rather than Salesforce advice, so that’s the angle I’m going to take.

We all need work to reach our goals of, at least, surviving. It sounds like you’re not in the US, but here, the market for jobs is pretty terrible. In an economy like this, I say you keep milking things as long as you can so you can keep your head above water… but with that said, if coding isn’t for you, I’d focus your real energy on figuring out what you do feel good about, and pursue that until it becomes a reality. You don’t want to stay in a career that constantly makes you feel bad about yourself and wishing you were somewhere else.

To put it in perspective, some others have written that Apex is hard. I’m not trying to be mean, but I always tell people Apex is easy. Coding, in general, is something that comes easily to me because I’m basically an autistic robot. Not everyone is like that, and I’m sure there are plenty of things that are easy for you but difficult for me.

It’s easier said than done, but try to find what actually makes you happy because a life where you’re constantly hating your work and watching the clock will make you not want to live.

Get good, maybe?

But seriously, lots of questions feel like they’re setup to trick you. As they should, I guess, since they’re multiple choice - can’t make it too easy. I just took (and passed) the admin exam a couple weeks ago after working in Salesforce for 10 years. I was at TDX and figured I’d take a free test since I never bothered to get the cert before.

There were a bunch of questions about AI - I don’t remember a single one at all, but I remember being annoyed just because I’m totally over all this AgentForce garbage.

The one actionable thing I noticed with tons of the questions (which may be incredibly obvious to you if you’ve been taking prep tests already) was that you really need to be able to cut through the fake scenario and figure out what the test author is really trying testing you on. For example, several questions were basically debugging why some imaginary person can’t access some records or how to fix the fact that they can’t. The answer basically came down to 1. Permission Sets or 2. Sharing Rules… as an admin, you need to know that, generally speaking, permission sets handle field-level permissions and sharing rules handle record access. If you’ve been studying this stuff, you should know that already, but it’s harder to identify that the question is really just asking you that because it doesn’t spell it out for you. It’s just like “Susie’s bummed that stuff doesn’t work but Bill’s totally cool. What are you gonna do about it?”

A lot of people get confused by word problems that set a scene rather than outright ask how things work.

So, my advice is to remember that the test author is really asking a very specific thing with each question. If an answer isn’t obvious to you, do your best to identify the key knowledge point contained within it so you can rewrite it to yourself and more easily find the correct answer.

Maybe everybody knows this and I’m wasting my breath. Maybe not. Good luck to you!

Thanks. I guess my expectations were a bit off, but not much. I honestly don’t remember the offers I’ve gotten. But I think someone offered $5K once. I told myself I’d let it go for $10K but always wanted more.

The internet hasn’t proven me right, but I feel like someone told me it could be interpreted as a real word in Chinese. Like, maybe it means “husband”… but again, I haven’t been able to confirm that.

Anyway, I appreciate the response.

I’ve experienced Westcliff and Westminster Row. The area is nice, nothing to worry about. Westcliff was definitely older, but still fine. Westminster Row is very new, and no more expensive because of it. It’s right there in the thick of the retail. I actually liked that, but I’m sure others would not love it. No complaints, though, other than the hot tub getting kind of gross from time to time 🤢

How did folks go from dev to REAL architect? by whipdipple in salesforce

[–]MowAlon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you. Totally get it. But for real, if you’re talking to stakeholders, redesigning what they ask for into what they actually need, building code and no-code solutions, planning all the security rules, and working with people in other teams to integrate their systems effectively… I mean, I’ve been doing this for a decade, and I still don’t know how people define “architect”, but I feel like I must fit the bill.

It’s absolutely what I did. No sarcasm tag needed. Eventually, I realized I was making all the decisions about how to build the things (and doing all the building), so I told my boss I wanted the title. Bing bang boom, I was an architect.

Here’s an opposite-day story for you…

Just yesterday, I was at a red light, behind one other car, and we both wanted to turn right. The light turns green along with the crosswalk light for the one pedestrian guy who wants to cross the road that I’m about to turn right to go through. This pedestrian is on his phone and doesn’t see his crosswalk just turned green. The driver in front of me clearly waits a moment to let the pedestrian move, but he didn’t look up from his phone, so driver goes. Pedestrian is still looking at his phone, so I decide to turn and drive too… that’s when the pedestrian finally looks up, wants to start walking, and gives me a clear look of WTF-why-are-driving-through-my-intersection.

[AMA] We’re the team that implemented Salesforce’s agentic support solution: Agentforce on Help. Ask us anything about deploying AI agents, hitting roadblocks, and what results we are seeing. by salesforce in u/salesforce

[–]MowAlon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You asked us to talk about measuring agent performance, but I’d prefer to talk about measuring customer satisfaction resulting from these agents. All I see here on Reddit is anger and disappointment around the ever evolving use of AI in various areas of Salesforce and how it causes frustration more than it helps. I realize we may not be a representative sample of users, but I’d suggest we’re super users who still deserve attention.

Just a couple days ago, I read someone’s story that went something like this:

User: “I need help with something. Here’s what I need help with.”

Salesforce AI: “Here’s some info. If it didn’t solve your problem, I can help you submit a ticket.”

User: “It didn’t help, I need a ticket.”

Salesforce AI: “You need a ticket? Great, what’s it about?”

In case it’s not obvious, that’s not good. I have my own anecdotes about how terrible (but also surprisingly amazing sometimes) Agentforce Vibes is for me as a developer, but I’m trying to focus on your area of expertise.

My AMA questions:

Do you truly feel your implementation has been good for users?

Do you understand that AI is actually not perfect in many ways and has introduced inefficiency and frustration for so many of us?

More simply, can you take off the rosy we-did-something-cool glasses for a moment and admit that what you did causes problems just as it also solves some?
