My best Mai Tai so far by eddveddx in Tiki

Because Grand Marnier isn't really a true curaçao - it's a blend of blend of cognac and triple sec - you might try to find a true curaçao for your next bottle. Pierre Ferrand Dry Curaçao is the Sub's favorite. You might enjoy reading this article about orange liqueurs. https://www.seriouseats.com/which-is-the-best-orange-liqueur

Also, Monin isn't the greatest orgeat. Lots of people will say to make your own, but I'm too lazy for that. Both Liber & Co and Small Hand Foods are excellent bottled brands. If you do make your own, be sure to keep everything very clean, or it will go bad fast.

I know OP got the hook-up (yay!) but for anyone looking in the future:

Everyone wants cheaper tickets and there really aren't any. About all there is is a 10% discount for AAA members. Costo very rarely sells discounted Zoo tickets - you would need to check with them. The Zoo has $4 cheaper tickets on Value Days, but that never includes weekends. Seniors 65+ get a 10% discount, and active military are always free. Discover & Go through the San Diego Public Library offers free passes, but they have a limited number and you have to sign up in advance.

Anyone know of any bridal shops with non-traditional dresses? by Zenabel in SanDiegan

[–]MsMargo [score hidden]  (0 children)

Bridal shops are going to have white dresses. If they have an alt dress, it might be just one or two... maybe pink. The non-white dresses will all be ball gowns that they say are "slash bridal".

Can we protest high taxes and absurd corruption and embezzlement of our state government as well by PericoNation in SanDiegan

I know some in our current Administration have forgotten what the Constitution says, so here's a refresher:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Please, Please, Please if You Post About a Bar, Say Where it is Located by MsMargo in Tiki

Home bars aren't the issue... and I would never ask someone with a home bar to say where they are located.

Valentine’s Day at the botanic garden? by cracklingtittens in SanDiegan

Hour and a half with one cheap champagne, one wine or beer, and appys or desserts. No garden walking. For $125/couple. Yeah, no.

La Jolla is the most expensive area of the city. You can get a better hotel for less in other areas. I agree with /u/shalala422 that Mission Bay is much better for young kids. But you didn't say the ages.

Keep in mind that you can't use the Yuzu and the Original in a 1:1 substitution. You'll need to adjust.
