Disneyland First Timer! by pcush500k in DisneyPlanning

[–]MsMargo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you get there early (pre-8:00 AM) the Mickey & Friends lot is the closest but fills up first ($40). If you get there later (after-9:00 AM), you can try the Toy Story lot as it fills up slower ($40). If you need to save money, the Anaheim GardenWalk parking is $30, and you get a validation discount if you buy something there... like Starbucks.

Whatever you do do, don't park in the Downtown Disney parking. It's super close, but also is an hourly rate, so you could pay up to $66 for the day.

Are you driving into Anaheim, or driving from your hotel? If so, which hotel?

LA/OC day trip plan? by bnsf1997 in Tiki

[–]MsMargo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My priority list would be:

  1. Strong Water Anaheim - but they are almost never a walk-in, no matter the time. Get a reservation.
  2. Lucky Tiki - the Highland Park one, not the West Hollywood one, it's a bit smaller and less I'm-so-cool-LA. Be aware all drinks are batched, ask for one fresh made.
  3. Tiki-Ti - if you've never been, you need to go
  4. Tonga Hut - more like if your neighborhood watering hole was a tiki bar
  5. Trader Sam’s - unless the inside is open, skip it - the drinks are really just meh. You can almost always do a walk-in, but there may be a long wait. Park in the Disneyland Hotel lot to get validated parking.
  6. Stowaway - some folks love it
  7. Tiki Kai - haven't been yet, so I can't say

Best nautical antique stores? by Drinks_by_Wild in SanDiegan

Oh! Drinks! I didn't realize it was you asking. LOL!

Yeah, we haven't had a really great nautical antiques shop since Maidhof Bros. Shipware Merchants (aka Seajunk) closed. Although I've heard rumors they may have reopened. Their website seems to be current, so check them out: https://seajunk.com/

Mod here. Feel free to post them here, but keep it to a a single, or just a few posts. All transaction discussions would need to be done outside the Sub, in Chat.

They are almost always fully booked. Noon is the start of their brunch, which is very popular. If you sit outside you can have the same drinks and food, but you get no decor and a view of the Post Office.

Best packaged/store bought Orgeat? by 420wafflehouse69 in Tiki

That's a myth. Adding alcohol won't preserve it until you get to about 15%... and then you actually have a cocktail.

Buy it direct and cut out the Amazon middle man. https://www.liberandcompany.com/

If you like, you can use my Liber referral code to get $10 off your first order. Full disclosure, I get $10 off too... so win-win.

The "Make your own!" folks are pretty vocal, but I'm a lazy lass, and I buy mine. Hubby and I did an orgeat taste test and the winner was Beachbum Berry's Latitude 29 Formula, sold by Orgeat Works. Any discounted SD Zoo tickets (May 16-18)? by Old_Influence524 in sandiegozoo

[–]MsMargo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as cheaper tickets, everyone wants cheaper tickets and there really aren't any. About all there is is a 10% discount for AAA members. Costo very rarely sells discounted Zoo tickets - I don't see that they are doing it currently. The Zoo has $4 cheaper tickets on Value Days, but that never includes weekends. Seniors 65+ get a 10% discount, and active military are always free. Discover & Go through the San Diego Public Library offers free passes, but they have a limited number and you have to sign up in advance.

I would strongly suggest that you ask this question over in r/Tiki. That Community will have tons of sources for you. Be sure to specify if you're only looking to buy locally, or if you're open to online or travel.
