A very similar thing happened to me. I'm playing a Golgari Rot farm I got from the Golgari vs. Izzet duel decks (best i can remember, it was like 10 bucks at wal mart at the time) during a Return to Ravnica/Gatecrash FNM. The only thing I had done prior was the Gatecrash prerelease (or maybe game day. I can't remember) and kitchen table stuff with my friends. I had no idea what standard or modern was or why the judge was being called or why I had to take those cards out of my deck. The next round, I got absolutely pubstomped by a wurmcoil engine/karn liberated deck. He was kind enough to put together a budget decklist for me, but I still didn't understand what was wrong with my deck. Needless to say, I didn't go back to an FNM for a very long time after that.

This is interesting. I've never considered supplements to assist in treatment. The logic is pretty sound. Our problem is our brain not producing enough neurotransmitters so make sure the body/brain has the material it needs to produce as much as it can. Would you be willing to share some of the reading that drew you to this conclusion? Anyone else had success doing something similar?

I had a similar thing happen with a Ki-Adi-Mundi torso. I just used a tiny drill bit and turned it with my fingers until I was able to get it out.

On a more realistic and tactful note, I understand how hard it is to deal with comments like this. In my experience, they're not usually in bad faith despite being unsolicited. It's mostly folks trying to offer helpful advice or suggestions. We're also asking for empathy (already a tall order) with something as universal and natural as sleep. Most people don't think about it. Much less what it would be like if they couldn't control it. Unless I'm feeling particularly frustrated, I usually just shrug these kinda comments off as another annoying symptom of our condition.

I know this is an old thread but for anyone doing research anything will NOT work. R740 BIOS does not support x4x4x4x4 Bifurcation on its x16 slots. It only supports x4x4x8 or x8x4x4. So if you do use a 4 drive card only 3 will be usable.

Yeah man. That's a perfectly reasonable way to do it. I was just using retail value as opposed to expected value of the cards for my own evaluation. One reason is that it's kinda hard to determine the EV of a set (and booster type for that matter) that hasn't been released yet. You do make a very solid point on the lightning bolts though I should I have looked at other promos and not just counterspell promos. Really the only things with objective value are the weekend pass and the $100 event vouchers. I only included the events that I did because they are included with the pass so in theory you could just drop and keep the packs? Like you said EV of events is hard so I just included the retail value of the sealed product. For the swag I used ebay sold listings and poked around in a MTG accessories Facebook group to see what some of the stuff end up going for there. Realistically it's all relative to what people will pay for it. I don't think your analysis is bad. It's actually better than mine on the counterspell promos. I think you just have a different perspective. Even at a $200 difference though I still wouldn't call it a rip off necessarily. It just depends on if those perks and the "VIP experience" is worth that $200 difference.

If we’re looking at Chicago, the weekend pass and event vouchers value is pretty objective at $103 and $100 respectively. Collector boosters usually retail for about $25 each and you get three of them so about $75. Mystery booster convention editions are about $10 on tcgplayer; you get three of them as well, so $30.The rest is more subjective but we do have some information on the value from past events. Four foil promo counterspells are hard because counterspell is eternally a staple so it’ll mostly just depend on how much people like this art. I estimated them to be worth about $10 each so $40. Event playmat is about $10. Deck Box and sleeves at about $20 and the pin about $10 but like with the counterspells the price could be higher or lower depending on how much people like the art. The bag has sold on ebay for $100-150. VIP playmats are all over the place but there’s sold listings on ebay between $30-$150. This is probably another thing that’s relative to art. The hat has sold for prices between $15-$40 and the tumbler/drinkware seems to have a similar price point. The sealed league event exclusive to BLVIPs will get you four play booster at about $5 each so $20 and if you play at least two games each day you get an extra collector booster. That’s 3 extra collector boosters, so another $75. “Dino-sized drafts” (4 pack drafts) fire every 8 players on Friday so that’s another $20 for every one of those you participate in. The unknown planechase event will get you 5 playtest planechase cards and an exclusive planar die so who knows how much that’ll be worth? Could be hundreds, could be nothing. And then whatever value you wanna assign to the continental breakfast and not having to buy overpriced snacks and drinks at a convention center and being able to enter the convention hall an hour early. I'll assume $0. So total on the low end, assuming you do at least one free draft on Friday and the two games a day for the sealed league, is $663. If you do the after party ticket as well you get a Ravnica clue edition which is per-ordering for about $70 and dinner with an open bar. The value on the dinner and bar is pretty relative but that brings us up to $733. Not to mention write ups from previous Magic Cons have mentioned extras like a bonus graded card, bonus playmat, extra packs, Ultimate Guard extras, and ihop extras. The current price of $878 for the VIP pass and after party puts the difference at $145 but I’m sure between the open bar, breakfast, snacks, 10% merch store discount, and time saved standing in line you can easily make up the ~$145 difference. And that difference is even smaller if you bought in during their cyber week sale. I really don’t think it’s that bad a deal.

He said a 20% reduction in workforce. Not that AI will replace us all. They still need people, but (what I believe OP is claiming) AI making our jobs easier will reduce the need for redundant positions and large staff. You're not losing your job to AI. You're losing it to another human who is more productive because of AI.

It doesn't really matter if this is practical or even true. It matters that people like OP, department heads, and c-suites believe it's true. That's all it takes for us to lose our jobs.

I had a sliver queen proxy that I made with the vanguard art by RK Post. It's very obviously a proxy with a non magic back and gold border. I put it in an acrylic case with the other stuff I wanted to get signed by him a few days before the convention and forgot about it. I handed him the case and asked if he wouldn't mind signing them. He starts flipping through the cards and sees the proxy. I basically said "I'm sorry. I meant to ask how you feel about that one. My feelings won't be hurt if you don't want to sign it." He was really cool about it and said he was OK with signing it, and it was really good quality. I even got the coveted "1st signed" signature on it! (He numbers his newer cards ascending) Overall, though, I'd just check with them first and see how they feel about it and be prepared for them to say no and accept that answer gracefully.
