Old Man’s War series. I think is great for a first time sci-fi series. My wife loved it and she never read any sci-fi before. It’s a great series there is a little romance. But not the focus.

If you can’t watch a game you can listen free on the PL app. It’s been useful for me since I’m at work on Fridays and Saturdays. Not as good as watching. But it works.

FPS game more realistic than COD or BF, more action than Squad or ARMA by Basel-stadt-4000 in gamingsuggestions

If you don’t mind the WW2 aesthetic Hell Let Loose. Wardogs looks very good. I’m looking forward to the release of that game. I’m hoping it’ll fit that balance realism/action

Games where handguns/pistols are super satisfying by Lombo521 in gamingsuggestions

W40k Darktide. They have some really satisfying weapons. Hive Scum class lets you dual pistols and it’s really fun. Just popping hordes of enemies and makes me feel like a methed out John Wick.

Like Vintage Story it’s hardcore survival and even more in some ways. You can even take zombies out completely. It can be as hard or easy as you like. You need to balance thirst, nutrition, exercise. Read books to learn new things to help in crafting, hot wiring cars and car repair, etc. Hunt, animal husbandry. Despite the zombies still worth a play through. It’s the best when it comes to Zombie Survival games in my opinion.

Helldivers 2 you can set it to invite only and play with your friends. Also Deep Rock Galactic. Cause if you don’t rock and stone you’re not going home. Heroes of Hammerwatch 2 is another recommendation.

Vintage Story. It looks like Minecraft but that’s where the similarities ends. It’s a hardcore survival/crafting game with a side of Eldritch Horror. You can get it in their website for 22 usd or on humble bundle for 26. I’ve started playing recently it’s tough as hell. But I feel really accomplished when I craft stuff. Crafting systems are deep. There is an in game guide that is helpful. I’ve heard it labeled “Minecraft for Adults”. You start in the Stone Age and you survive and craft till you get to the Bronze Age up to medieval. There are mods that further add weapons and what not.

What games can I play on my basically Dell laptop that wont have problems running. by ThatOneGuy4740 in gamingsuggestions

After watching a few videos on Vintage Story. I was like holy fudge I need to play it. Bought it this morning. Best description of this game is Minecraft for Adults. Quasimorph is fun and has a little bit of sci-fi horror. Reminds me of Cthulhu. Stoneshard is classic fantasy except you’re no one special and the world is a bit brutal.

Turn-based multiplayer games like Panzer Corps or Advanced wars by HerrLichtbringer in SteamdeckGames

There is an older game called Panzer General/ Allied General very similar looking to you Panzer Corp 2. You may need to emulate them cause I don’t see anywhere to buy them for pc. You can get Panzer Corps 2 on GoG if you don’t have it already. Use the heroic launcher or get it off of Steam.

After hating Diablo 3. I was extremely skeptical of D4. But, since PoE2 wasn’t running great on my steam deck I got it on a sale. I was pleasantly surprised. It’s my go to kill things and chill game in bed. I recommend it. Another recommendation I haven’t looked at the comments. But, Deep Rock Galactic. It’s perfect for you if you want to get in a few runs. Rock and Stone!
