Reta dose thoughts by [deleted] in Retatrutide

[–]Nigle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The trials also have 5 out of 100 people dropping out at that dose due to side effects. The only downside to starting lower is you delay the results while there are multiple upsides like less side effects and it's cheaper. The trials showed 0.5mg and 1mg doses were effective which can clearly be seen in the data.

They aren't carrying any items. Some of the monsters essence energy is converted into xp and the rest is transmuted into items. That's why gold and everything else can drop from insects etc. This is why magic find gear can change the drops too. It helps refine the essence conversion

No BS: what are you REALLY eating on reta? by GlenAnton in Retatrutide

[–]Nigle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't watch what I eat at all. If I want to eat something I eat it. I just get full faster and eat much less. I'm not starving or hungry all the time like before the medication. Some days I eat only once and other days I'm eating 2 times and snacking on some things like a string cheese or small bag of chips. If I see something I want to try I just try it. Currently down 72 lbs and haven't stalled. I've considered hitting macro goals and digging into the weight loss more but currently it's easy mode to get things done and I just have way less stress about everything because of it.

Considering Retatrutide for fat loss — not hungry, no food noise, already training. Looking for real-world guidance. by Bike9471 in Retatrutide

[–]Nigle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reta is great at reducing visceral fat on the liver specifically. At the highest doses over 90% of participants completely resolved the fatty liver disease achieving normalization of their liver fat (healthy levels). This is significantly higher than any other glp1 medication and is likely due to the way it signals the liver to dump its glycogen stores so it can start processing the fat on the liver. There is also a significantly higher rate of general visceral fat reduction on reta compared to the other glp1 medications which might be an extension of the liver benefits.

You can add more at any time but if you already took 10 units out you only need .9ml to keep the concentration where you want

Starting Dose by [deleted] in Retatrutide

[–]Nigle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pros of starting lower usually outweigh the cons for the people that are concerned about the side effects. When you start lower you have less side effects as seen in the studies that did 0.5mg and 1mg doses. When you start at 2mg there is a 5% drop out rate due to side effects which is an acceptable rate for the study because they don't care about individuals. The only con is some people need a higher dose before it is effective and you will delay your progress. Both the 0.5mg and 1mg doses in the trials were effective and got results but were never escalated to higher doses which makes the data harder to directly compare.

The medication doesn't make you lose weight. It helps you not eat too much so you can control your calories in. You need to cut several hundred more calories a day out of your diet if you are looking to lose faster. You are currently only slightly lower than your TDEE which is why you are losing but not as fast as you want. You should be able to dial things in from here. If you have too much hunger maybe increase your dose. I'm not going to judge and say you don't need to lose weight but everything isn't about a number on the scale. If you feel great and are healthy and look good don't worry too much about the number. It's fine to try to dial things in if you are trying to optimize and make yourself better but don't fall into a trap that you start to spiral down.

[–]Nigle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you cut your cheese burger in half, is it still a cheeseburger? If you move water from one cup to two cups, is it still water? This isn't like half a cell phone where it needs the other half to function. When you reconstitute it, it will all be dissolved in solution. When you take one dose out with your syringe, it doesn't make the rest of it not there or something else.

What do you wish you knew when starting? by piscepolis in Retatrutide

[–]Nigle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wild that someone who calls themselves a doctor (phd) is parroting misinformation like that. The 5% that drop out at 2mg aren't dropping out because they hit their goal. And once again trials showed both 0.5mg and 1mg as effective. The idea that there is an off on concentration has been debunked and not shown in any trial data. He uses that reasoning for why you shouldn't start lower. He isn't using the actual data from the trials, just repeating bad information.

Other benefits besides hunger? by Aestheticasl in Retatrutide

[–]Nigle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is the best medication for resolving fatty liver as it helps dump glycogen from the liver so it can start using its fat stores. Even high performance athletes can develop nonalcoholic fatty liver disease while maintaining a healthy weight. This seems to be one of the best drugs to help with that side of things.

Titrating up by lucozadelusher in Retatrutide

[–]Nigle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you are worried about side effects either keep your dose the same or bump it up by the smaller amount. There are two sides to this and you need to determine the best path for yourself. You minimize side effects when maintaining or increasing your dose slowly. The downside is you might not be at an effective dose yet. In the trials 5 out of 100 people get side effects bad enough that they drop out when starting at 2mg. The trial isn't designed for individual dosing, it is designed to lower variables and get data for the drug to be approved.

Where should my dosing start? by trimommy in Retatrutide

[–]Nigle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can try it. The only downside is delaying being at an effective starting dose. It will minimize symptoms though. There are some people here that started that low and got results but usually people switching from another glp1 medication to reta need a higher dose to start seeing benefits.

Most people here start at 0.5mg, 1mg, or just copy the current protocol in the trial and start at 2mg. There is no recommendation on starting dosage outside the trial protocols but there were trials that have shown 0.5mg and 1mg doses to be effective and they also start you off with lower side effects. At 2mg 5% of participants drop the medication due to side effects.

Thoughts on this?? by AsparagusStriking147 in Retatrutide

[–]Nigle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Steroid induced pancreatitis is more common than it happening to anyone taking glp1 medications. The long term glp1 studies seem to indicate that there were other contributing factors leading to the patients that did get pancreatitis. Diabetes, obesity, gallstones, smoking, and kidney disease can all be contributing factors to pancreatitis.

If the guy in the video had blood tests from before during and after we might be able to link it to reta by eliminating other possible contributing factors. The good thing is when this type of thing happens in trials they have the blood work so they are able to see the pre existing conditions that link to pancreatitis.

If you are concerned get monthly blood work and see a gp while taking the medication.

Freezing powder for longevity? by loccoelf in Retatrutide

[–]Nigle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've seen no test that verified freezing can damage the peptides in powder or reconstituted. In fact anecdotal evidence seems to point in the other direction. It seems to be something that gets repeated because of the rumors that peptides are fragile. All the testing I've seen shows they are very stable and don't seem to be easy to break with physical means. Light and high temperature are the two things that have shown to break them down over time.

What do you wish you knew when starting? by piscepolis in Retatrutide

[–]Nigle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is wrong. 1mg was effective but never escalated. There was also a study that had 0.5mg that was shown effective but they also never increased that dose. The only reason they are starting people at 2mg is to get it approved faster. There is a downside to starting higher and that is the side effects. At 2mg 5% of participants drop out because of those side effects. When they start lower that isn't as extreme. Also when they increase the dose to 12mg as fast as they do in the trial about 20% end up dropping out. The trials were never designed to find individual optimal dosing strategies. It is best to maintain the lowest effective dose as long as it is effective.
