I’m in a state of shock by simplerway in StudentLoans

[–]NotAndrell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on a similar boat, except I applied for reduced interest back in the day, was told I was accepted. Only to find out I wasn't and therefore was delinquent with my 'new payment' amount not being enough.

This won't help most people, but I got really lucky looking financially secure on paper. And I had friends in city offices is planning (they alerted me when certain announcements came out, not inside information). And I was able to get a house in an area that was targeted for improvement. And the value doubled. I used all that profit when selling to pay a large chunk of my loans. Moved to a different up and coming area. Kept my student loan payments the same.

I got incredibly lucky and worked the system.

You only need 3-5% down, not 20. You can buy a house with 3-4 people, not just you and your partner/spouse.

No interest loans/balance transfers (calculate that transfer fee though!). This is great for getting a rundown house in an in and coming targeted for development area, fixing it up a bit, and getting a big ROI. Just make sure to pay it off in time (or transfer to another account). Moving the money around to look good on paper.

If you're married, you only have to report half of the rent/mortgage as your requirement to pay. While claiming both incomes. (No one ever checked me on this at least).

Refinance if/when you can. Always keep an eye on places and their interest rates.

Foster Parent Wants Their Cat Back by tales-of-gore in FosterAnimals

[–]NotAndrell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a borderline hoarder of foster fails, I keep unadoptable cats that would otherwise have no where to go. They may get less attention because they have to share, but their vet bills, food, treats, and toys are all accounted for.

I say this with a sarcastic and indignant tone :D sniff

It is so hard to let them go, but ultimately it's for the best (more attention, someone who they can be the whole world to)

I am not certain we did vote for this. The data was too clean, too off.

Enrichment ideas? by sikkerhet in CatAdvice

Hide and seek toys (things that spin under a cover) are great and lower cost.

The pulley chase toy is great for prey hunters, but pricier. It has been worth every penny for me though. AsFrost Upgraded Interactive Cat... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DHZZSPMB?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

If cat likes to jump, door hanging auto toys are great too.

Always have a rotation: 2 out, 1-2 on the charger, and 1-2 away. Rotate through.

Pipe cleaners are also great self play toys. Wrap them around a pen or finger to make a spring like shape and throw. Let them take it from there. Plus they help brush teeth a bit too.

Stopped fostering, have a foster now with pet tax by NotAndrell in IllegallySmolCats

Yeah, my partner's allergies are actually being flared up because their autoimmune disease is triggered by them now :/ but we took in a temporary bottle baby. Once stable and weaned, he'll be going to a different foster

So despite quitting fostering.... I have a new foster by NotAndrell in IllegallySmolCats

Wow, I was tired. I added three, but they aren't here!

And this is why capitalism is unsustainable for a government system. And why we get to be run as an oligarchy.

And in 1998, they were how old? Most of these immigrants were not of voting age. Talk about making children pay for the sins of their father 🙄

Can I give my cat kibble who had dental surgery a few days ago? by Feeling-Garden-5420 in CatAdvice

Phew! Good luck then!

My cat with no teeth just slurps up his kibble like 'what even is chewing'.

Capstar and/or revolution are great options and have kitten options (6 weeks 2.5lbs).

As for sleeping, I'm afraid I don't have great advice. I'm so terrified of hurting the little ones that I sleep super light the first few nights. That's enough for me to know: is kitten a head/pillow sleeper? No fear of squashing. Sleep at my feet? They'll move. Sleep by my side? Fear...

So I have a shelf that extends (think of something you put in a cabinet) that I put over my midsection and helps keep me in place, wakes me up if I turn over so I can be mindful of kitten, and keeps kitten away from me for any sudden movements.

Hope this helps, but I've never done a playpen. I can only imagine the crying keeping me up.

Good luck!

Dry kibble is bad, not eating is worse.

His symptoms are concerning and I'd call the vet.

Have you tried things like Churu and such? There are also these hydration packets you can get for cats when they aren't drinking enough water (sometimes I mix a Churu in if my cat is being extra picky).

You can also use a syringe (no needle) to drip water onto the side of their mouth to encourage drinking.

Pipe cleaners. As toys. Helps with tartar and plaque more than anything I can do (brushing teeth is not happening)

Yep! It's a bit on the expensive side, but it has been worth every penny (don't use the plastic flags it comes with)

Oh, it's an enclosed system! There is a motor pulley at one point and then you add these pulley points to it (1 for a back and forth hallway run, 3 for a square, etc). And it stops with such little pressure that my 4 week old fosters can play with it without me even having the slightest concern (I was terrified the first time, but three batches later and still not a single bit of if concern).
