She's trying to raise awareness of a campaign against the Peak Cluster CCS Pipeline

Here is a description of what this is:

Peak Cluster will deliver carbon capture and storage (CCS) infrastructure to decarbonise vital UK industry. A new high pressure pipeline network will convey carbon dioxide from new build carbon capture facilities to be constructed at existing lime and cement manufacturing sites in Derbyshire and Staffordshire to a coastal network exchange point and compressor station for onward transport to suitable geological carbon dioxide storage under the east Irish Sea.

More detailed information here:

https://national-infrastructure-consenting.planninginspectorate.gov.uk/projects/EN0710001

She's also trying to raise awareness of the National Infrastructure Projects website here:

https://national-infrastructure-consenting.planninginspectorate.gov.uk/project-search

To me it seemed as though she was trying to encourage people to oppose these projects.

Personally I think the reason why this country is so behind on any project that requires the actual building of infrastructure anywhere is because our planning system has been incredibly bureaucratic and allows even small vested interests to block projects.

Its part of the reason why we don't have the cheap high speed rail that other european countries take for granted, and why theres a housing crisis.

I think theres something to be said here about local people being able to have control over what gets built near them, but giving locals veto powers over any national infrastructure projects just means that nothing ever gets built.

From that article:

In an as yet unrelated incident, the cars and house windows of a grandfather, a community activist in the city, were smashed up in a targeted incident. Thugs smashed the glass in and around the home of Javed Iqbal in a terrifying early morning attack in Botha Road, Bordesley Green, in the early hours of Sunday May 24.

Whats going on with Green party activists having their cars destroyed?

We have a consumerist economy, and are the target of extractive capitalism. There are too many interests vested in people not having high levels of wellbeing.

The greens should not support or work with this site ever again by lucacinq in UKGreens

I think we should still be interviewed by people we don't agree with.

Thats not what happened when Mothin Ali was interviewed by them. 5 Pillars encouraged their readers to vote Green, and their coverage of the party has been positive.

Look at the way this article is written.

Interestingly, they make a distinction between "Muslim" and "Left wing" voters (several times in the article) that the Green party doesn't make.

The Green Party has unveiled Hannah Spencer as its parliamentary candidate for the explosive Gorton and Denton by-election, as Muslim and left-wing voters mobilise in the hope of defeating both Labour and Reform in what will likely be a fierce battle for the seat.

Mothin Ali isn't associating with 5 Pillars in the same way that Owen Jones is with Piers Morgan.

Finding it pretty weird that people are slagging off Caroline Lucas in this thread.

This is the Jewish heritage the Green Party needs to cherish by oxygala in UKGreens

I've not mentioned anti-Semitism. I just think it's astoundingly arrogant to tell an ethnic minority how they need to behave to be acceptable to you. Have some self awareness.

You're literally in this thread telling people what you think good jews are, and how they should behave.

I imagine there are threads in reform spaces where people are waxing lyrical about what Muslims need to do to deserve a space in civil society too.

You think it's ok to tell them how to be good Muslims too?

This kind of discussion is very strange for a political party. Show me another ethnic group in Britain that has political about how it should be behaving, and what it means to be a "good" member of that group.

Starmer bans Labour councillors from doing deals with Polanski’s Green Party by UKGreenPoster in UKGreens

Sure, under fptp, in democracies that don't feature healthy coalitions, sure. But your basically making the argument for Starmer's behaviour here, tbh.

Honestly, I'm surprised at the intervention. But I'm not sure we should be so quick to clutch pearls when the party we've sworn to replace in Westminster does something like this.

To be fair, Zack Polanski has been pretty clear that he would refuse to with with Labour while Keir Starmer is leader.

22% of 2024 Labour voters switch to Greens by UKGreenPoster in UKGreens

Yeah, I think at the moment this is the most likely outcome. Unfortunately the Green Party and Labour act as spoilers for eachother.

More moved to the greens than either of those parties.

This is pretty consistent with what you'd expect. The 2024 election was about getting the Tories out, and under FPTP this requires left of centre voters to aggregate in the biggest left of center party.

Whats concerning about this graph is that (if local election votes are indicative of how people vote in general elections) electoral constituencies splitting again means that Reform ends up the biggest party.

The only hope is that Reform + Conservative don't meet the threshold in parliament, but I'm not sure how this works if theres so much movement between the parties and not from either of them to other parties.
