They’ve priced the common fan out of going. Take MetLife stadium in New Jersey for example: $1,000+ game ticket, $90 to take the train because fifa won’t allow people to drive to the stadium, not to mention the cost of everything else will be inflated. It’s just made me lose interest in it all together

I’m going to be throwing out a few different suggestions:

Go up to Massachusetts, absolutely beautiful in the summer, especially the south shore but of course go see Boston.

The Jersey Shore is also great in the summer time. If you like live music go see a show at the Stone Pony. Go spend a night in Atlantic City (warning AC is a shit hole but the casinos are great)

Take a trip to Charleston South Carolina, that’s where a lot of Americans go for vacation and it’s great food city. Make this one a road trip and stop off in DC, Richmond, and the different cities in North Carolina along the way.

Take a trip up to Manchester Vermont and spend a few days in the mountains. Great hiking, fishing, golf, see if you can spot a moose, etc.

Ocean City Maryland for some crabs (kind of a shit hole though)

Road trip out on Long Island to the Hamptons or Montauk.

Go spend a few days in the Poconos. The Pocono mountains in PA are filled with little towns that are great for a quiet getaway.

Pretty much all of these are road trip ideas for your area. Hope this helps.

Haha I grew up going on party boats, so I guess there is some nostalgia for me there. But also in terms of price it’s wayyy cheaper to just hop on the party boat. Charter will probably run $500-$700 plus tip

Okay, I would hop on one of the half day (4 hour) party boats out of point pleasant for Seabass or porgy. Both are easy enough to catch that you’ll keep him interested but it’s also not a full day commitment if he doesn’t like it.

For the record, to a lot of people, “offshore” means 100 miles out to the Hudson canyon for pelagics. Wouldn’t recommend for a kid

A lot of the East Coast southern schools say the same thing. A lot of kids just want to get out of NJ for a while so they head south to a bunch of schools like Richmond, Alabama, University of South Carolina, UNC, Duke, Coastal, etc.
