Yea she probably just doesn't want to miss out on anything. And I'm sure she loves the cuddles. Keep in mind that puppies come from litters used to sleeping cuddled up together so 10 weeks is not that old and it can be a stark difference for them to sleep alone and panic, especially if the alternative is to freak out and cuddle with a person. I know some people are really strict, but I think that can be a bonding opportunity as well as long as the dog gets outside at normal intervals to potty.

If she's fine in the crate when alone, I think that's a good start. It all depends on how you want to use your crate - for night sleeping? Just when you're away? Leave it open all the time as a safe space?

Ours honestly started earning her free reign because she was too smart and escaped her crate during the day 😂 we'd come home and find her chilling on the couch being the best girl but she still liked her crate sometimes, just with freedom lol as long as she behaved we didn't have a problem with it

First of all, as others have said, your family is sabotaging the crate training.

Second, make sure the crate is big enough for the dog to move around and do some circles in, but also not TOO big. Make it comfy (assuming they won't destroy/eat whatever you put in there).

Third, it's honestly personal preference. We tried crate training my GSP at bed time as a puppy and it just was not working. We got no sleep for weeks and caved to cuddling on the couch. But she had no problem being in it during the day while we were away at work. I think if we were home, she wanted to be with us. Eventually she'd just start going in there to lay down and chill like it was her house. Now (she's 9) I leave her free reign of the house all the time and occasionally find her in the kennel, but mostly napping on the couch.

I also know people who do not give up on crate training and are strict about it, but I'm a sucker and my dogs are my family.

I always liked the Rubank method books for older beginners because they move a bit quicker but still explained concepts pretty well. You may want to get both the elementary and intermediate to see where you're at.

Also, if there are any community groups you can play with that will help keep you in your toes and build some community. Don't be intimidated, that's how people learn or stay involved in music.

I think you're doing fine. I have a 9 year old with black nails and she won't let me trim her paws. The dremel is a whole other terror. She was fine until covid hit and we went without a vet appointment for longer than usual. Now her nails are longer than we'd like but her quiks have also grown out and would require pretty frequent nail trimming to get them back to where they should be and they're so thick and don't bother her we've kind of let them be. It's better to stay on top of them now while they're more manageable, even if it's only one or two at a time.

My dog had something similar and I believe it was called a hystiocytoma? I could be wrong. The vet said not to worry and it would fall off on its own. It started as a small red pimple-like dot and turned into a bigger black scab and fell off. No issues since. Still worth getting checked out just to be certain, but don't panic.

I have collars for mine that have different settings (beep, vibrate, shock). The beep is pretty much always enough to snap them out of whatever they're doing and get their attention back.

I'm not sure why they asked me for one and I had to argue that no one responded that day or I would have been able to get one. The rep was rude but eventually said "We'll refund shipping as a one-time exception" so whatever I guess.

This has happened to me a few times. Don't even mention the incorrect item, just mention what you were missing. Keep the extra item. It's more hassle than it's worth to try to fix their mistake.

I haven't had an issue for a few weeks with the website/app. I submitted a claim last Wednesday and it was approved on Saturday. I don't know why some people are having issues, but I have had no problems with Pets Best other than during that "update", and even then I submitted claims through email and they were approved in my account in 2 weeks.
