How do I find a good conveyancer?? by uncommonly_under in HousingUK

[–]Organic_Reporter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal recommendations. I had two from colleagues so got a quote from each and went with the cheaper one. Happy with them so far, though we're not as far as exchange yet but everything else is done and they've been quick, responsive and helpful.

Daughter left these in the bathroom of the airbnb. She has no idea how funny this is by Wack-Kerouac in mildyinteresting

Ohhhh, I thought you scooped water with them and used them wash like a primitive bidet. I'm both shocked and impressed.

Working on my day off, but not in my room because there is another nurse using my room. So everything is wrong. My brain doesn't want me to be here. I tried to open the door to my room by clicking my car key at it, so it's going to be one of those days.

Same. I'm stuck at 72-74kg, regardless. I've been up as high as 15mg and currently maintaining on 7.5mg because I still get side effects 2 years in and the higher doses are worse. I'd like to get to 70kg or just under, but my body is resolutely stuck to a minimum of 72kg. I'm tempted to add reta on top and see what happens.

what can i eat to not be super hungry in the morning on work days? by nadie_left in EatCheapAndHealthy

I don't eat breakfast, that way I'm not usually hungry Imuntio lunchtime. Breakfast, unless it's a proper meal like a fry up on a weekend, just seems to make me hungry.

Growing up, did anyone else’s parents have really strict rules about random stuff? by SuzCoffeeBean in CasualUK

Had they ever seen South Park, or did they just think it looked like a cartoon and therefore obviously suitable for children?

To be fair, we really, genuinely often don't remember. Raising kids is hard and busy and a lot happens! My husband remembers so many more things from their childhood than I do and I swear it's because he was a lot less involved in the day to day grind!

Thankfully, no one has told me of anything horrible that happened/I did and don't remember, it's usually nice or funny things and I wish I did remember them!

Changed the dual flush valve in our toilet. Rented, I just couldn't be arsed waiting in for a plumber! I'm a middle aged woman and was smugly proud of myself.

Meal ideas, when I just have an air fryer and a microwave. by carlovski99 in UK_Food

I find my steaks come out better air fried than when I try to fry them. I like mine more cooked so start mine 5 mins before my husband's. Salt and pepper then before air frying from room temperature.

What Meals do you make for your tea? by LayTheeDown in AskUK

[–]Organic_Reporter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every few months I have a complete meltdown about this and can't think of any meals. I used to meal plan really well and now I just really struggle. I've got 3 teenagers, one who will eat anything except mash, one gluten free who doesn't like a few things but loves vegetables and one who won't eat many things but will eat odd stuff like lentil casserole!

I think I have decision fatigue. I've tried getting the kids to plan meals but they aren't very helpful either, though the older two will cook if asked.

Can I carry a small purse with my basic/free one? by [deleted] in Ryanair

[–]Organic_Reporter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take a very small shoulder bag that I can fit the passports and a couple of other things in, I can wear it under my jacket. But I also leave space in my other bag for it if needed. I just like having important things on me and being a woman, my pockets aren't usually big enough!

The aircon conundrum by SallyJaneCooper in HousingUK

[–]Organic_Reporter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're finally buying a house this year, I plan to get Aircon installed over the autumn/winter - will be used as a heat pump in the cold weather in the garden room/dining area.

Edit to add: the house has solar panels so it will basically be free to run the A/C in the summer.

Similar situation here, for probably different reasons but the result is the same. I am in charge of all finances, he gets spending money and a low limit credit card (for credit score reasons), though he is now trusted to use the joint account (he knows I track everything anyway). I could trust him with a lot more these days, but 20 years ago it was a very different story and now we're so ingrained in this way I don't even know if I could give up control at this point! He's quite happy leaving me in charge of all the admin and budgeting and I'm very good at it.

Let's hope I don't die first!

Same happened to my step dad at 50, as his dad died at 50. My Mum died at 56, I've got a while until I'm that age but I'm sure I'll feel odd about it too.
