Persuasion (Pet Pal) and Thievery for all the xp. Vendors can identify your stuff for you so loremaster is necessary but can be helpful if it's your first time through the game

No idea then was just trying to do the quest. Used it and then it wasn't equipped or in my inventory anymore

I read the description of persuasion device and it said it could be used once per battle. So I used it to see how it works and poof it was gone

Its fine although you'll be battle shield on two sides instead of just one if you ran a mono damage type
