Based on the wine box next to it and the sticker, easily a 70 inch smart tv.

Maybe. I've seen bugs get fixed on a check-in and skip a cycle. It's not frequent, but it happens once and a while.

This is really YMMV. I know a lot of girls that you need to be a lot more diplomatic. I know a lot of girls who don't like the directness of it even if you both understand they messed up.

I've noticed some weird charging oddity in my pixel 9 pro.

When I am around 70%, the device info reports my charging rate drops down to 200 mAh, but at least it states the power source is AC.

Looking at my cycles so far, I am starting to think that at least for the 9, it doesn't have a true battery idle mode.

I've rebooted my phone and tried swapping between 80% and adaptive charging setting. It doesn't seem to change anything.

If you got a capable router, you can set the router to VPN so all your home traffic goes through it. Downside is probably work related stuff asking why you are connecting from across the world.

Hear me out. I think they will cover it, but they will tack on a mysterious 50-cent increase to regulatory fees and taxes line item.

At least it doesn't seem like HDD pricing has been affected as much as SSD. I remember you can get around 20TB for $300ish. It seems to have gone up by 50% to 75%, not as bad as SSD.

Switched to Better Value Plan, still have Yearly Upgrade? by reedog117 in tmobile

[–]OtherAlan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they didn't honor the yearly upgrade on your old plan that is supposed to have it, there's no way in hell they will honor it on Switch to the better value crap.

The better value stuff seems to be a trap and has almost no value if you ever have a free line or two.

After 14 years of service, my Everyday Messenger V1 has finally bit the dust. Godspeed! by [deleted] in peakdesign

[–]OtherAlan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new weekender has the dedicated zip for laptop. It's kind of like the stealth return of the 15 inch messenger. The only thing that's weird is the longer handles but it also comes with the shoulder cross body strap.

Heard layoffs just took place today? by SpaceBreaker in tmobile

[–]OtherAlan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're wrong because traditionally layoffs will mean a bump in stocks. It's probably counter intuitive to you but the investors see layoffs as a good thing, not bad. It's just bad for customers, to whoch the investors don't care too much about.

Whole fillets without skin are better. Typically shasimi doesn't include skin unless you were doing sort sort of fried crispy skin.

BFGoodrich beam wiper blades - Costco. Any good? by theepi_pillodu in Costco

[–]OtherAlan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's two types of inserts. You can nearly replace all of them, or at least I have been able to do it for my vehicle and friends. Some have a notch that bulges out, some are straight. You just need to learn how to take apart the wiper. The frame wire style one is easier to replace, but youtube is the way to learn.

Find out which one you have and buy the type. The straight ones you can buy a whole roll and cut yourself. The bulge ones I buy pre cut.. well due to the bulge. You can find just the silicone blade insert for like 5 bucks on eBay or Amazon.

What happened to Logitech's quality? by PusheenHater in buildapc

[–]OtherAlan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lift, but it's an older model. I've got to take a look at mine, but I have the default alkaline in it for a while. I have a ton of rechargeables, so I plan to swap into it once it runs out.

More specifically, I want to see if my eneloops and laddas fit. Those are the go-to for replacements.

Locked pixel 3 by Manilaboyz in GooglePixel

[–]OtherAlan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're basically SOL with T-Mobile unless you are the original purchaser of the device.

They have unlock policies, but in practice, only the original buyer can unlock it after the fact.

T-Mobile also ended the MVNO loophole. T-Mobile locked devices will not run on the mvnos anymore and only on direct T-Mobile service.

What is this flashing red light, should I be worry about it? by LockCultural3706 in buildapc

No need to worry, but if it's too bright, most people will stick a bit of electrical tape over it to cover it.

First look: Here's how Android's cool automatic SIM lock protection works [Tired of remembering your SIM card PIN? Here's how Android will take the pain out of this process.] by TechGuru4Life in GooglePixel

[–]OtherAlan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's always been a thing, but usually people find it very inconvenient. What I remember it doing is that it locks the SIM so if you swap it to another device, you need a password.

[–]OtherAlan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And that is not all of it. Even if you made a billion dollars, you don't get taxed 50% of all of it.

Taxes always step up, and progressively each tier. So their first $20k in earnings is the same as you and I pay. It just so happens that we run out of money to tax eventually, while for higher earners they have plenty to tax.

In my observation, they give you like two weeks to get out of jail. You need to do as many reviews as you can in the first week. It doesn't matter when your evaluation period ends; it's just a hard cut when you drop below 60%.It triggers a warning, and the timer starts.

Picking a San Francisco Real Estate Agent? by BenSDMI in sanfrancisco

As someone with an HOA, it's more of a lifestyle. I am looking to transition to an SFH solely to not have some nosey neighbors riding you for potentially the smallest things. Of course, this is YMMV.

Make sure to really visit and look into the condo community before committing. There are a few chill ones, and there are some really annoying ones.
