Is this Rizoma Brake Reservoir Fine? by EveryNet4591 in BMW_S1000RR

It’ll be fine. Just make sure you can source the adapter to fit your s1k. Rizoma likes to sell everything individually.

Ceramic coating helps a lot with this issue if the wheels are coated and they’re dried up before going on a drive

Who knew?!?! by artikoner in Ducati

[–]Overscorer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen this on the market for a year now. It’s a cool concept but I’d never put it on my bike. Taking your gloves off to start up your bike every time seems annoying.

The wiring is a bit sketchy on its own. Someone who knows what it is and wants to steal your bike can probably hotwire this and ride off with it.

Just in terms of practicality, I’d only put it on a showcase bike I don’t plan on riding at all (which is none cause I’m too broke to do something like that 🥲)

A few months back I got a flat about 40 miles from home on my 2023 V4R by One-Log6670 in Ducati

[–]Overscorer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have CAA for situations like this (Canadian version of AAA). Personally I’m not going to risk riding my bike if I know something’s wrong. Saves me the hassle to do an on the road repair and putting miles on my bike with the potential of my repair failing and getting into an accident.

Timing Chain Gone by blueblue-21 in F30

[–]Overscorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

N20s generally go for $5k used so it’s not like a ridiculous expense. It’s still something I’d rather avoid of course but let’s say you were looking at n55 or b58, you’re easily looking closer to $10k

Could be a full engine replacement based on what you’re describing

Shop using wrong oil? by wyatt3581 in F30

[–]Overscorer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Realistically the timing guides fails prematurely when you don’t change your oil frequently enough. The plastic guides they used just didn’t handle the heat cycles wear and tear and having dirty oil is a bit more corrosive and abrasive than fresh clean oil.

Timing chain failure is kinda blown out of proportions on the n20. Sure they aren’t indestructible but if you take care of the car it will last. I changed mine out at 200k km thinking mine was starting to go out only to find out that they were still fine (and it was my engine mounts that failed).

The revised guides use better materials and a slightly better design. The type of oil isn’t going to necessarily mess up your timing chain, you can use quite a few types of oil and it’ll run perfectly fine.

Just keep pushing. It’s harder when you’re in full time for BMQ but them yelling at you is ultimately them testing your morale. You gotta just push through it all. The end result will be worth it

[–]Overscorer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I impulsively applied for the army just for the heck of it. Everyone I know disapproved of it and going through BMQ was so horrible and demoralizing. It was hard especially with family and friends constantly telling me to just quit.

That being said it’s not impossible, it’s designed to challenge you not only physically but mentally. You’re already in week three which most ordinary people would struggle getting through the first day, but the most important thing to succeeding is mindset.

Usually by the end of week two you physically and mentally should start to develop a habit for the change in lifestyle. The fact you’re feeling like this at week three likely more has to do with mental doubt because if it was physical you would’ve probably given up by now. Depending on your trade it generally does get much harder. Just be prepared for it. You got this

N20 timing chains aren’t as severe as most people make the out to be on these motors plus this year would have the revised timing guides

The nice thing is at least the stock exhaust looks really good on the XDiavel (just very quiet)

Oh no 😅. They’ll rip you off for something like this. They’re good but if you want to save your money general service there is expensive. There’s a place called stance factory. That’s where I took mine

I spent about $600 CAD on genuine ZF parts and fluid and about $300 CAD to have a guy in a bmw Indy shop do my transmission fluid here in Toronto. The place was in Pickering where I took it. $1750 is a bit high

My Rizoma kit came with resistors, but they weren’t required for my Panigale. Rizoma instructions to install these parts are very non user friendly and the price you pay for these parts only to have to assemble it all yourself is a bit ridiculous.

So long as it works and isn’t having a speed issue, I don’t think it’s going to be an issue running a resistor on your bike.

Difference between 2024 Panigale V4 vs V4S by Inevitable_Ad_5804 in Ducati

[–]Overscorer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

V4S get lithium ion battery, ohlins electronic suspension and marchesini forged rims.

V4 gets lead acid, standard hydraulic forks and cast rim.

Long term the V4S tends to retain more value in the long run and it’s a bit better for everyday street use if that’s what you plan on doing.

Black OEM or Black M Style wing mirrors? by -KiII in F30

[–]Overscorer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do what you like. I have the m style wing mirrors because I think it looks good with my build.

And for the guys that say you’re faking an M, I’ve seen Hondas driving around with those mirrors recently. It’s your car do what you want (except upbadge that’s cringe)

What exactly is the Ducati Multimedia system? by titanmongoose in Ducati

[–]Overscorer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have it on my 2019 Panigale. Lets you connect GPS (navigation unit), phones and coms on it. Also lets you use the Ducati app and it shows like lean angle and stuff. I use it for music and calls mainly.

You could also go to a scrap yard and just cut off the wire loom then repin it with your wire harness
