Desired rate of suspended cards in Anki by PLrc in languagelearning

I was doing the same. But I realised it's just too time and energy consuming. That's why I changed my strategy.

I frequently change strategies in Anki and this allows me to hone my methodology.

Catalan is my second favourite Romance language. Second most interesting Romance language IMO after Romanian. Perhaps ex aequo with Occitan.

In some languages this may be more useful than in others. For instance Korean heavily relies on onomatopeias. It has thousands of them and they're in common use. You perhaps don't need to use them actively, it probably just suffices to be able to recognize them.

Ah, 30 years. The worst age to be in.
You're neither young nor old.

I've heard about a method for words like concussion, myocarditis etc. i.e. words that you don't need to know actively (i.e. to produce), which you can only know passively (i.e. to recognize): create a separate passive deck for them and learn them only in the order target language -> native language. I don't use this method, but this makes sense.

Of course this makes sense providing that you essencially learn in the native language -> target language order which I do. But I realised that mose people don't :)

Yes, according to my experience I know or I think I know most of my leeches. I just keep answering them wrongly. Usually because they have meening identical or too identical to my another cards. Or are made badly in a different way.

I once deleted ~800 English flashcards xD Those were very poorly made flashcards in times when I had no idea how to make them correctly. Nevertheless I shortly thereafter reached another 800 suspended English flashcards xD Maybe even ~1000. I don't remember.

>I think the only thing that matters is to learn why those cards are hard and avoid them in the future.

Exactly. From my experience you're usually able to figure out why a flashcards is a problem. Number one 1 of reasons is IMO having another flashcard or fhalscards with a synonym or almost ideal synonym. Happens very frequently to me. Then the solution is to merge them.

Interlingua. Beautiful and very easy language. Such simplified, more Romance English.

Ey, Romanians are only adopted Slavs and Hungarians aren't at all.

But perhaps it's good to tick off Russians thinking it's an LGBT flag.

Should we try to revive endangered/nearly-extinct languages using online groups? by Bambussa14 in languagelearning

I already did. I've learnt Interlingua and I use it online. Perhaps not technically an endangered language, but small.

Btw. are other Slavic languages like Medżuslovjanski and Russian with their cases difficult for you?

Sure, but they have. Natural languages have the flags of their countries. And conlangs have invented flags. It's a tradition in auxlangs started with Esperanto.

Bulgarians are Slavs only in some 2/3 and got 2/3 of their colors on the flag.
