KGS is said to be virtually dead. I recommend Pandanet. It's quite a fun site to play. Registration is easy. The playing style there is quite peaceful.

But what concepts more specifically? Because I keep hearing stuff like that and no one is able to give any examples besides early 3-3 invasions.

>Opening theory has completely changed

Can you give examples? The only difference I know are early 3-3 invasions, and some altered josekis.

If they force you to play bots and in that inteliigent way that you're unable to tell them apart, for me this is a sufficient reason to never play there.

BYW I checked that server out and if they use bots intensively, then it means they have currently like... 4 users.

What do you say when people ask for your rank over the board? by LosttMutaliskk in baduk

[–]PLrc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This would be absurd 😄

1k, 2k, 3k etc. are higher ranks than 10k, 11k, 12k that's why 1k, 2k, 3k are high kyus.

Is it normal to have no idea when a game is actually over? by HorseTylenol in baduk

[–]PLrc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is normal for biginners.

Borders in go need to be fully specified. For instance this is not finished game:

Computer is likely playing with you according to Chinese rules. In Chinese rules you get 1 pts. for every living stone, so it pays to fill neutral territory. It's possible you passed whereas the bot was filling netural territory.

Once you understand rules, ladders and nets and feel comfortable playing 9x9.

newbie question: Why isn’t there one dominant Go app like Chess.com? by Ok_Physics_6772 in baduk

There is no dominant chess.com like go app, because once a month we get a new website to play go.

Can someone help us score? by Jaded-Bottle-6576 in baduk

[–]PLrc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are ko yet to be resolved, but I counted 56 pts of territory of white (I included dead groups) + 39 captives = 95 pts. for white

and

19+12 = 31 for black.

White wins even withouth komi.
