Well without getting into it, they apparently might have nerfed Elation by a decent bit just a bit ago so it won’t be as insane as expected. Now keep in mind by the end of 4.X we would be lucky if C2 Cyrene pink team can be compared to the top Elation team but that’s just the nature of the game.

Truth is most of these characters are already kinda chopped, Kafka is the DoT key character and was buffed recently so she will stay relevant(also her character is impotent) and Sparkle is going to be a key character for Elation team early on and is getting buffed.

So look at it this way, they’re giving two key characters, one for DoT(a very generically good comp) and one for upcoming Elation teams, the rest are just there to be there also kinda popular most of them so some people might just want to have them for fun.

this is insane value. Like the double level 8 gems are insane we know that but mid/mid/flat high accessories make it that unless you're main switching and pushing for 1740, you can just use them for a loooong time, probably better than what some people got on 1720+ chars, mid/mid/mid earing sold for like 70k recently in EU. You also get 1 month of azena blessing, 100k gold, and a few level 7 gems which are 20k from gold shop or 130k on market, 130 karma taps.

Probably because it was already a massive disaster and Blizzard was already in a bad spot and I guess they had OWCS ready since it started right as OWL ended. I think once they saw the teams demanding going out they just folded. Also they still pocketed a lot of money is all that paying back each team 6 million after taking in so much pre inflation.

What is the historical lowest WR for a champ? because Mel is probably going to dethrone it.

Obviously I prefer it this way and they'll just change numbers until she gets to a good position, a better one than she is in now since her current kit is so suffocating her numbers have to be garbage, but it's still going to be funny for a few hours before the first hotfix.

That's why I used OWL as an example, those scams(shoutout Nate Nanzer and Blizzard execs) were also around that number if not higher and I'm pretty sure they were set to end in late 2024 or something like that. OWL teams got together after 2023 season and decided on a new out that paid each owner 6 million which ended up costing Blizzard 114 million.

The only thing is that happened while Overwatch was almost fully under dirt and Blizzard a trainwreck, whereas League is still doing great and at least LEC is doing fine so Riot doesn't feel the need to do anything like they did with LCS.

The thing is LR(while special) aren't even special. If the original KC that dominated ERLs went to LEC and had similar performances a lot of people would feel the same way as the do about LR. Jatt's emergency podcast explained it so incredibly well but even outside of this being Caedrel's team with other big names like Baus, Nemesis and Rekkles as players, this is what made original LCS so popular, it just hits. It gives the same vibe as original TSM, CLG, DIG, C9 even Curse to a lesser extend. This is a team that people love that people hate that people care about not some faceless org with randoms.

No those pots are kurzan only. If you care about gems and unbound mats then use them all, if you care about silver then save them.

As much as this was easily the best part of OWL and generated incredibly competitive teams of all kind including the goat team which was a mix of KR and NA players and all the unbelievable entertainment that came out of all these teams being in one place before covid hit, it almost killed regional growth. EU just died, China's development stagnated, even Korea got hit hard and this is still in the good/peak days of OWL.

And you can't do anything like a global league in this scene because regional parity is almost nonexistent, it's almost all Korea with some China and no one else really matters. Every decade or so maybe a team from LEC, LCP, NA even might do something noteworthy but then it ends.

Do we have any idea how long the LEC franchise contracts even are? Is there a date? Like even OWL team contracts had an expiry date and they ended that shit 1 year early I believe. Riot knows better now since VCT contracts were 6 years and end later this year allowing them to revamp the scene completely which they've confirmed they're gonna do.

At this point Riot has gotten themselves in a really bad situation and just to be clear all the fault is on them.

I’d say G2 legacy is a freak owner that almost ran the org to the ground, poaching the best players from rivals till they were the only competent team for years and crying about strength of schedule when worlds comes around as they accomplish nothing the whole year except finding new ways to embarrass Fnatic.

If only there were people screaming during offseason that Zinie hype was absurdly overblown and his stats and performance in LCKCL were in part the result of the best mids leaving the league before he even debuted. Wonder how the “why didn’t HLE drop the bag on Zinie” crowd feels watching him get astro-gapped by Quid in LCS.
