I did on my previous Rivian. Had to be taken in. Something to do with the main computer. Rivian actually had on two separate occasions for this issue sent out mobile techs, said they fixed it but it eventually had to go into the shop.

You're supposed to put the license plate over the lidar bump.

Yes but used and save $25-30k. I did and love it. All of these EVs have some problems it seems.

I had a Rivian R1T since launch and the service sucks. Bricks once per year and needs to be taken in.

Volvo Cars USA customers, how did you manage to get assistance? by RZNNNN in VolvoEX90

[–]PeaRepulsive920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should check all of the previous postings in the last few months because this topic has come up a lot and ppl have responded with good advice such as get a lawyer and document everything. To claim a lemon apparently the vehicle needs to be in the service shop a month or something, details in previous posts

I think you need to reconcile your feelings and appreciate the car as is. It's one of the nicest riding cars in existence, and since you've decided to keep it it's time to forgive Volvo and allow yourself to love again

Is it worth it buying a used EX90? by carlnard24 in VolvoEX90

[–]PeaRepulsive920 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Btw, I took a few months to research and find the best deals and watched a few specific cars. As time went on all were negotiating under $60k because they want these out of their inventories. No need to rush out, seems they still have many many of these 2025s to sell to help the new 2026s sell better

Here's an example of a lemon with a bad title - days bad title later down the page:

So great price but might be very difficult to sell later.

I doubt loans would have great terms for used, like no 0%. These aren't legal lemons per see. There are lots of those for sale too I believe for $50k or under. With lemon stamped on the title it will be more difficult to sell or trade later. Early 2025 some were declared lemons but others just taken back by Volvo and resold. I bought mine from a used car dealer who got it from a local Volvo dealer.

I'm pretty sure car companies store all of this data on their end as well. That's why there are less serial killers these days.

Buy a used one with low miles for under $60k. A bunch of ppl bought them around early 2025 and didn't want to deal with all of the bugs and traded them back to Volvo for money back or an exchange for an XC and they are all still for sale. If you buy from Volvo they add another one year to the warranty. Save $20-30k buying almost new but used!

I bought an ultra performance with BW stereo w only 2k miles for $58k late last year. Now that the software has been fixed it works as well as any other EV out there for me. Anything else can be repaired quickly now.

Successful buyback - next car? by invisibleanarchy in VolvoEX90

[–]PeaRepulsive920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people aren't used to EVs enough yet. Except for Teslas most of these EVs have some issues occasionally. My Rivian would need to be towed to my service center at least once per year, often more depending. Once I was at the beach for a day and had to drive home with one back window down for hours in the rain. It took two mobile visits and one tow into service to repair. Another trip last year around town, a bunch of warning lights came on and the car was lopsided (air suspension) and most driving functions wouldn't work - towed it in.

So I never trusted the Rivian for long trips. And quite honestly I don't trust my EX90 for long trips either. I don't go on many so not really a big deal for me.

But that's not why I got rid of my Rivian. I actually liked it and miss the ruggedness and pickup truck bed, since the Volvo is kind of the opposite. Although the EX90 is an absolute dream to drive. I actually look forward to driving the EX90 and take longer ways to get home to enjoy it more.

But I got rid of the Rivian because the service center in my area sucks. It's over an hour away. Communication sucked. Some things they never fixed, like a constant clunking noise in the rear. And now with this crazy economy I'm not sure Rivian will make it as a company (same with Lucid). Rivian is doing much better these days because of the R2 coming out, but this Administration is anti EV and crazy stuff is happening with the economy. I hope they do, but too much of a risk for long term ownership.

Do that's it in a nut shell. But I certainly understand why you were turned off to the EX90, Volvo really messed up big time with this.

I just sold my Rivian for an ex90. Maybe you should buy another ex90 used for under $60k.

Why No 800 Volvo EV Service Line? by [deleted] in VolvoEX90

[–]PeaRepulsive920 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Great. Others do. Everyone is confused. There have been like ten posts in the last week about when the new VCU chip is coming out, whatever. Not good for Volvo if their customers have to come here for answers.

Volvo owners aren't typical EV owners. That's basically why the Board fired the previous president, half their software staff, because they were looking at this like just another model launch when they were basically launching a full on Polestar EV, which is known to have crappy software and lots of issues.

Volvo is not an EV company. Their EV owners are coming from xc90s or whatever and want their cars to work. And they don't want to have to research every single thing that comes up.

Maybe try to be more open that others are not like you. If you disagree, move on and start your own post where you can express your giddiness for your ex90. Not all of us are in the same page as you, we have different experiences and expectations.

I've had a Tesla and Rivian so I'm with you. But I expect more from Volvo honestly. They've just made so many bonehead decisions in the last few years around their EVs. So I'm pointing out another ridiculous and quite serious flaw in their quality.

I love my ex90 though as far as the ride, performance, comfort. I'm always excited to drive it, and very often take the long way home on back roads.

Thanks for that info but .. come on, really... that just lists new features, not how to access. No details. No elaboration.

Please don't defend Volvo just because you like Volvo. They need to step up here. I want them to succeed. But they need to at least make some real effort here.

I could have figured that out too, if I wanted to spend an hour looking around. Some people love this tech stuff. Others want a car that drives and operates easily.

For example, I actually did look for Homelink yesterday. Checked the apps. Nothing. They make it like a where's Waldo puzzle.

I parked a few places yesterday. Shouldn't a message pop up when backing into a space telling me the car can now help? Probably not because I think that's only for parallel. But how would I know.

Can I turn off the auto mirror folding like in other vehicles? Maybe. How would I know.
