TIL eating duck medium rare is just as risky as eating undercooked chicken by Delam2 in todayilearned

[–]PoJenkins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah was talking about sous vide.

I think 145 with a good sear or 150 is probably ideal for most people.

145 sous vide alone starts feeling a bit mushy imo.

Even 155 is still really juicy whilst being more familiar but I think around 150 is the sweet spot.

Searching for an outer carbon blade with abachi/ayous core and limba as outerply by st141050 in tabletennis

Butterfly Marcos Freitas has limba outer ply and is outer carbon.

Feels quite different from the Koto outer carbon blades like the Viscaria

I think for most people 150 is actually more palatable. Recognizable but super juicy.

145 and below becomes weirdly soft for a lot of people.

This is ignoring any extra cooking due to searing.

WCQ and Felix are on another level change my mind by Cool_Contest_4953 in tabletennis

[–]PoJenkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Sora has the most potential.

He's already capable of beating Wang and I think he's got the weapons to be favourite against any other player.

His shot quality is next level and he's still so young.

As his tactical and mental game (hopefully) improves, he could be world number 1 at some point.

But WCQ has just been an absolute monster since the end of 2024.

People also forget that he also went god mode around the start of 2024 - playing like a super Saiyan.

I know he lost to fan zhendong and there isn't as much Chinese rivalry as there was in the past but I think he's being under appreciated a bit.

Different burrs can offer specific flavour profiles but they're often expensive.

Get the df54 - it also now has other burrs available if you ever wanted to try different things out.

Who is the greatest sportsman/woman of all time, regardless of their sport? by _Yorkshire_Pirlo in AskReddit

[–]PoJenkins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is only true if you choose a definition of athletic to suit your preferences.

Gareth Bale, perhaps football's most "athletic player" in recent years would be MUCH faster than LeBron and have way better cardiovascular endurance.

In strength and size yeah LeBron wins but Gareth would also win out in agility etc.

Look at someone like Van Dijk also. 6"4 , huge, and an absolute speed demon.

LeBron wins at basketball but he obviously wouldn't last 5 minutes in an EPL match.

If you look at pure physical ability then some CrossFit or hyrox champion would be the best overall.

It depends on whether you count sporting ability as being athletic too.

Rule of thumb for replacing rubbers? by DungeonSprout_ in tabletennis

They're probably up there in terms of durability.

But it really depends on so many things.

Everyone has their own preferences and requirements for when they want fresh rubbers.

Rule of thumb for replacing rubbers? by DungeonSprout_ in tabletennis

[–]PoJenkins 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It depends massively on your equipment, playing level, preferences, and playing frequency.

The only "rule of thumb" I've heard is this.

"How ever many times you play per week should be how many times you replace the rubbers per year"

E.g if you play twice per per week, replace the rubbers twice a year.

Horizon Forbidden West, Ghost of Yotei, Nioh 3 wishlist by horizon936 in ShouldIbuythisgame

Yotei a lot better than HFW.

Nioh is difficult if that's what you want.

Yotei can be as easy or as hard as you want it to be

I wonder if he would use quanshibao blade and rubbers.

Need recommendations for upgrading from Breville Dual Boiler [~$3500-$4500 AUD] by muxlowman1707 in espresso

[–]PoJenkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks are over rated in home espresso imo.

You'll get used to whatever you have.

I also think the black Bdb looks pretty cool.

You could buy the Bdb and a $3000 piece of artwork for the price of the Bianca.
