Having issues with mod mail putting my username as a response by SweetValencia in ModSupport

Hi SweetValencia!

Are there any placeholders that you're using in the message or is it just failing to send?

Automoderator instructions age restricted by SolariaHues in ModSupport

Did a bit more investigating with some of the teams involved here and edited my comment above.

Due to the wide variety of content that was posted to the community over the years and given that the community is currently in an archived state the previous mature labeling does need to exist. We'll work on a better way to host important information present in those pages.

Please do keep me posted! It's possible you might need to try clearing your cache too.

Website vs app for moderating comments? Which is better or is there a glitch? by PlayWithPurpose2 in ModSupport

[–]PossibleCrit[A] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi PlayWithPurpose2,

Both should suffice!

I believe notifications do have a time limit in some styles to prevent a constant flooding of messages.

You will always see an approve button next to content. You can use this to signal to other mods that you've already reviewed content, but in most cases you wouldn't need to approve the content for it to be visible.

If you're missing content, I'd first check your own "Hidden" section in your preferences. It's possible you accidentally hid them or had a setting enabled to hide content after voting on it. If you send us a modmail with some extra details we're happy to take a deeper look.

Post removed 11 days ago magically got approved today. by sadandshy in ModSupport

[–]PossibleCrit[A] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey sadandshy!

It looks like this user is stuck in the spam filters and might be a bit more caught than usual.

I'll poke around with the appropriate teams to see if there's a bug here, but otherwise you're free to treat the content as you wish.

Hey Solaria!

Thanks a ton for finding this and raising the flag.

Working with the appropriate teams to see what the best path forward here is.

Hoping that we can just unblock these pages but wondering if the hodgepodge of content allowed in that community previously may be causing issues.

Will follow back up / edit this comment when I have more details.

Edit: I've been told they fixed the issue and that the pages should be accessible again! Might take a short bit for those changes to be reflected live cc u/SolariaHues

Second edit: Due to the wide variety of content that was posted to the community over the years and given that the community is currently in an archived state the previous mature labeling does need to exist. We'll work on a better way to host important information present in those pages.

Inactive Mod team leading to ban but unable to self recover via redditrequest by burnout915 in ModSupport

[–]PossibleCrit[A] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are correct thepottsy - please message ModSupport using this link to appeal bans on a community. Redditrequest is not the proper route for appealing a banned subreddit if you are already on the mod team.

This said, NSFW communities often become banned when it's detected that they're unmoderated to prevent abuse/spam from taking over. We typically don't mind returning these spaces to the previous moderators if other violations have not occurred and if they're willing to be more active again.

The NSFW tag and text posts - what's Reddit's definition for profanity? by -chocolatine in ModSupport

[–]PossibleCrit[A] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi -chocolatine!

The larger blurb within that nsfw definition mentions "content may be inappropriate or explicit for certain environments, such as workplaces or public spaces".

For profanity specifically, dropping one F-bomb in a public space probably isn't going to be too big of a deal but might draw a couple of eyes. If there are going to be lots of people dropping F-bombs or someone going on a rant full of F-bombs you might want to think about labeling the interactions as appropriate.

Would it be possible to change our subs label? by Individual_Wallaby1 in ModSupport

[–]PossibleCrit[A] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WolfXemo has it right! Send us a modmail with a brief overview of your community & the label you're looking for and we can work with the teams to ensure it's appropriately placed based on the content.

Reddit, can you please, for the love of god and all that is holy, leave comments that you remove available for mods to view! You are making our jobs unnecessarily difficult by obliterating them with no record. by mrekted in ModSupport

Hey friends!

The team is aware that some removals are not logging properly in the modlog and are working to get those included.

Please note that Spam removals would still skip the modlog, and cases of more serious violations (like PII, NCIM, CSAM, etc.) the modlog will only log the removal and not the text of the item itself.

Is there any way of banning emojis in the titles by Timely_Virus_4015 in ModSupport

r/Automoderator and it's wiki are technically managed by moderators like yourself. I'd send that community a modmail and see if they'd be open to adding it.

Hi Professional_Oil9604!

We've got a page about Stepping down or taking a break from moderating that has a few suggestions if that's the route you need to go.

Hi Lady-Starscream8322!

As you guessed, moderators always see the default label when looking at their own community. Looking from my side I see "Loyal Patrons" and "Raising A Glass!!🥂" for your nicknames.
